I'm ok with the Irish being at 4
I'm ok with Bama being at 4 last week and being 2 this week.
However LSU is VERY similar to the Irish, both with one loss to a highly ranked team. Also similar to Bama with one loss and strong schedule.
Why is it that Bama and Notre dame get the benefit of the doubt, but LSU somehow drops 7 spots?
There's no logical consistency in it. Had it been ANYONE else other than the two biggest brand names in college football, those teams wouldn't be #2 & #4.

The Notre Dame hate is ridiculous
Do they play a conference championship game?
That's my biggest beef.

I laugh that FSU didn't drop at all after losing to Clemson
well you shouldbt drop much if you lose to the #1 team on the road in a competitive game anyways

Ok St being behind Iowa, Baylor, and Stanford is retarded

I still can't figure out why people aren't understanding what the committee is doing.
They are simply setting up elimination games and they're doing good job.
People screamed for a playoff they get it now they bitch about rankings like the old days.

OK State being behind Baylor and Stanford is indefensible.
Committee is a joke. And I defended them all last season.

At the end of the day, LSU just needs to take care of business from here on out and they will put themselves in a good position.
Just seems like the committee is showing a ton of favoritism to The Irish and Bama that they wouldn't dream of showing to anyone else.

lol
Dude, it's gonna play itself out either way. These "playoff games" you keep mentioning are going to happen no matter where the committee ranks the teams right now.
However, the inconsistent nature of the committee right now could lead to major controversy on that final weekend.

This week we are all Oregon fans

i still havent figured out why the rankings matter until much later. yeah, "we wanna know how the committee thinks" and how they evaluate shite, but does it really matter? as long as they get it right, it's all good. they got it right last year, and i dont see anything that leads me to believe they will get it wrong this year.

I would have LSU between 5-7, 9 is way too low, but their offense looked really, really bad. When ND got beat by Clemson they shut down the run game, but Kizer was able to pass well enough to get them back in it. Harris didn't afford LSU the same luxury Saturday night, and I think that may be part of the drop, though again 9 is too low.

or maybe ND and Bama have better wins against the top 25 than the others?
plus they both have great SOS

I just don't understand why the eye test even matters, really.
College football is the only sport on the entire planet where it does.

I said this as well, but I still don't agree with it.
They clearly want ND vs Stanford winner to have a spot.
I hope Oregon wins this week and takes Stanford out.

Jeff Long making an excuse for Stanford, saying they played their game against Northwestern at 9am pacific time
What a crock of shite. Why does that matter. Their result was a loss.

Is Oregon getting healthier?
Posted on 11/10/15 at 6:30 pm to BayouBengals03
Well if their were 8 divisions and wild cards for a true playoff like the NFL then it wouldn't matter, but until then it will.

I'm ok with Bama 2 and ND 4. Good teams, good wins, strong schedule.
However with LSU being very similar to both (ND especially), how they didn't get ranked higher and get a pass versus Bama/ND getting a pass screams either bias (unlikely) or rating a team higher consciously or subconsciously because those teams are big names perceived as great.
It'll play it self out I guess. I just think this inconsistency will cost someone on the last week.
ETA: I mean hell, Kirk Herbstreit just talked about ND qualifications and one was "Hey they're Notre Dame"
I mean geez
