Last year I really liked the committee's approach, this year they've been all over the place.

I hope so.
Hoping the take care of Stanford with weekend, then need Stanford to take care of Notre Dame.

Same.

Way too much eye test this season. Eye test should have zero impact on these rankings. None.

the most alarming thing said was that the committee had the most difficulty ranking 5-8.

so teams #1-4 were solid and then #9 LSU was also solid - which means LSU wasnt even considered to be ranked higher - pretty hilarious

i also thought the committee was going to talk about intelligent things and how to weight various factors appropriately independent of a computer.

instead, they are all just old fricks talking about the eye test it seems.

The fact that jackass was making excuses for Stanford's loss on national tv

Look, I understand LSU got dominated on Saturday. But, in all honesty, Alabama is just a bad matchup for LSU. We do the same thing, they just do it better. The committee doesn't see that, they just see a big Alabama win.

Which is why eye test shouldn't have anything to do with this. These dudes aren't qualified enough to use the eye test.

or maybe ND and Bama have better wins against the top 25 than the others?

plus they both have great SOS
Lsu has better wins and SOS than Notre dame. And one is 4 and the other is 9. No logical explanation

Yeah, but it seems like teams 5-8 control their destiny a little more than LSU, so I can see why it's easy to put LSU a little further out.

what SOS is the committee using? anyone know?

I can safely assume NDs is considered stronger (they had it at #12)

tRant is absolutely freaking out because LSU is #9 & Iowa is #5. It's like some of them expected the committee to go easy on us after that absurd performance.

Didn't stop them last year when they had TCU over Baylor and Ohio State all year

Again, inconsistency.

I'm one of those people, to be honest.

Stanford looked awful and got embarrassed by Northwestern, yet the committee chair makes excuses on TV for them.

Doesn't make sense.

Jeff Long should be embarrassed.

I hope LSU shoves it up Arkansas' arse on Saturday.

Gotta love tRant
What's gonna be even funnier is the melt when everything falls in place for LSU to grab a playoff spot (assuming Bama wins out) and the committee leaves LSU out because they don't want to see a rematch.

Should we really crucify a team for not looking amazing in week one? I don't think so.
