Looks like it rained again overnight/this morning at Erin Hills. More low scores coming unless it's windy. Hardly any course could get the kind of rain they've received and not be receptive. It would be a bear if it was dry and windy.

Johnny Miller throwing the shade at Justin Thomas

quote:

"Taking nothing away from nine-under par -- nine under is incredible with U.S. Open pressure," Miller said. "But it isn’t a U.S. Open course that I’m familiar with the way it was set up.

quote:

“A 63 for a par 72 is a heck of a score,” Miller said, “even if it was the Milwaukee Open.”

quote:

“For one, the greatness of my round is the 63 in the last round of the U.S. Open to win by one,” he said. “Everything else is way secondary. If somebody does it tomorrow to win the U.S. Open by one, that’s the specialness of my round. And secondly, Erin Hills isn’t exactly Oakmont.”

Just goes to show Johnny Miller has no class.

I'd throw Stenson's 63 last year up there as well (know it was the Open Championship but still).

Going to play a LOT differently today. Wind is going to be a factor.

What little respect I had remaining for Miller was just lost.

Yeah, it's a shame good shots get rewarded

Everyone's used to someone hitting a perfect shot at Merion and the ball ending up in shin deep rough.

I don't think people appreciate how well-designed this course actually is.

He's dead on correct.

They don't, but it doesn't matter. The players and USGA appreciate it and it will most likely host the US Open every 15 years or so. People will just have to deal with it.

Next time around the wind will probably be blowing, the winner will be at +2, and these mouthbreathers will be happy.

The wind is howling and the USGA is trying to actually slow down the greens to make them easier in the wind.

Erin's Hills is about to show it's teeth. Should be a great final round.

You mean the USGA couldn't prevent the rain and lack of wind?

They suck (I mean, normally they do, but this tourney has been great).

Looks like it is finally windy today, but is supposed to let up at around 4pm so leaders wont have to deal with it especially by the back 9. Look for a shootout I guess. Just like watching a regular tour stop.

Hope it blows all day long. Thank god the weather stepped in with some wind so I don't have to watch another day of lawn darts. The players will have to think their way around today.
