I'll go with Minnesota v. Atlanta. It would be a rematch of probably the greatest World Series of all time in 1991, when Jack Morris went 10 scoreless to help Minnesota win in the bottom of the 10th 1-0.

Why I think it could happen:

Minnesota has the best road record in all of baseball, currently 50-25. They will need to win a few road games to have a shot to get to the Series. They also have a serious lineup, currently second in runs scored to the Yankees. Of course, they could end up beating the Yankees in the first round, only to face the Astros rotation of Verlander, Cole, Greinke and Miley with a good bullpen and with Osuna closing things out, so it's a long shot.

Atlanta also has a stellar road record, currently 46-30, and they will also need to win on the road to get past the Dodgers. They also have a very good lineup, but they could end up losing to the Cardinals in the first round who actually have pitching. If they do get to the Dodgers in the NLCS, they will have to crack their stellar rotation as well, but if they can, they can conceivably score with the Dodgers.

I mean, this Series is probably Dodgers v. Astros/Yankees, so I'm just thinking of some other interesting matchups.

A's/Dodgers would be cool. Only if the A's win though

That's the first World Series I was able to really follow as a kid. It had pretty much everything. The Metrodome was rocking.

Cards Yankees is a series I've been praying for since I was a child.
Don't want the Dodgers there again so they can lose their third straight World Series

The world is tired of watching the dodgers choke.

My dad went to Minneapolis and I think I still have a Homer Hankey from 91 somewhere.

Braves-Houston would recall some pre-AL postseason matchups.

Braves-Yankees would be a very purist, all-American matchup IMO. Of course a more chalk Dodgers-Yankees would be an even "bigger" version of that, although I think the youth of the Braves would arguably make ours more fun.

You may just be trying to rile up WestCoast, but I don’t get when people act like every team that loses choked. The Dodgers are 18-13 over the past two postseasons (that’s a 94 win pace over a 162 schedule). They were one game from winning it all against a great Astros team. It was an incredibly even series. Does the team that loses always have to have choked? 10 teams make the postseason. Usually a handful are really, really good. Only one can win the trophy. I don’t think that means all others lack the mental fortitude for it.

I do get that people want fresh blood in the WS though.

This is all good stuff. I enjoy seeing the Dodgers lose, but I don't feel they choked at all. They made to the World Series two times, which is very had to do. They played the AL Champ each time, obviously, and the AL has had some very strong teams lately. No shame in losing to Houston or Boston.

Astros v. Braves would be a great one. I went to Game 1 of the NLDS here at then Enron Field (the second to last game it would be called that) on October 9, 2001. It was such a weird time in the country and in Houston. Of course, 9/11 had just occurred less than a month earlier, then the final Enron collapse started right after that. There was just a weird vibe all around.

The Astros took a 4-3 lead into the 8th inning, and we all thought, cool, Dierker will put Dotel in for the 8th and Wagner in for the 9th to close this thing out. But instead, he chose to put Mike Jackson in, who immediately let the Braves tie the game and left with two on for Wagner. Chipper Jones hit a three-run shot to basically end the Astros season.

I am pulling for the Dodgers to win the pennant. So that I can watch them lose in the World Series again. I really hope they can reach Buffalo Bills status and lose AT LEAST 4 in a row.

Lofty prediction mate

Would be awesome to see a sold out Target Field with World Series fever as low IQ Somalis terrorize innocent Minnesotans heading to and departing from the game

This would be awesome. Especially being that the road there would likely mean taking down Astros, Yankees, AND Dodgers. Would be a helluva postseason run
