He’s great. His Tiger Woods story several years ago is one of the goat sports pieces ever written. His masters story about his dad is required reading if you love your dad.

I enjoy his long form writing about sports. The other stuff...not so much. His last 2 ESPN articles, one about the Celtics and the other about Aaron Judge were well done as usual.

I can appreciate him for what he is.
His early stuff, circa 04-09, was solid.
Then he got in with the Yankee crowd and tried to curtail to their views of a Southern man.

He is. I actually met a guy a few months ago that went to Missouri with him.
He found out I was from Mississippi and asked what I thought about Wright Thompson. My response was similar to most people’s thoughts in this thread and he went “oh well I was good friends with him in college”
