Getting a lot of comments on the fan incident yesterday.. sorry to any and all offended by it. There was more said as we walked to the tee wishing bad things on the course for myself or Luke. Then the get in the bunker comment over and over again I felt...
...it was very understandable to have him escorted out. I never want to lose fans, or have people root against me. I just didn’t see a place for that particular person to be yelling at us things that weren’t necessary over and over again. I over reacted...
..and should not have had him kicked out. I feel bad for it, but was more doing so because again I felt the stuff he was saying was completely unnecessary. I love all my fans and to hear that I’ve lost quite a few bc of that, isn’t fun. So I’m sorry to all!

I'd have every chump that yells "get in the hole!" tossed if it were me
I feel the same way about "And 1" by players in the NBA after every damn bucket where there is a defender within 5 feet of them.
Make me emperor of basketball and any player that says "And 1" is automatically ejected, the bucket waved off and the other team spotted 20 points.

Why is golf the exception? I agree that it's dumb as hell to do that but it exists in every other sport.
It's a different kind of concentration, in all honesty. Something like basketball or football requires a high level of concentration for sure, but so much of the actual plays are impulsive/reactionary.

What kind of idiot yells that out loud at a golf tournament.
The kind that would have had Alex Noran, Luke List, or Tommy Fleetwood on his fantasy golf team that week.

He did something somewhat similar to this at last year's Zurich Classic. My brother and I go to the Zurich every year and we're following Thomas and Bud Cauley 3rd round last year when Thomas called out a guy by the 12th tee for snapping a quick cell phone pic of them. He seems like a sharp guy and as a fellow Bammer I want to pull for him but he definitely comes off as an elitist pick with moves like that and the one yesterday. I don't understand why a player with so much going for him wants to risk cdeveloping a reputation as an elitist prick by trying to embarrass or call out fans whether they deserve it or not. Petty little outbursts in public are going to turn a lot of fans that would otherwise cheer for him against him.
My dad had a run in with Johnny Miller at the 1984 PGA Championship at Shoal Creek in B'ham and can't stand him to this day. Trying to get his autograph for me and my brother (9 and 12 years old at the time) and he acted like my dad was an idiot for asking for his autograph by the practice area.

Weak sauce response from Thomas. Either you overreacted or you didn't. Don't try to explain it and then say you overreacted.

they need to start booting everyone of these MF, who scream bababooey, get in the hole etc.
Could set some pretty simple rules on the ticket.
Anyone who yells get in the hole on a par 5 or par 4 over 450 gets booted. Anyone who yells a random word not associated with golf gets booted.
Have roving beer guys and the first one to point out the "yeller" gets a free beer.
Problem solved.

It’s more shocking that you don’t understand how stupid you sound. Just to make it easy for you, in a golf tournament (at any level) there are other people playing aside from your buddy
They aren’t just ‘people’. They are the people i’m COMPETING against. Why in the frick would a serious athlete, especially in a one-man sport like golf, give a shite if his antics get into his opponent’s head?
If I’ve managed to do that, then I’ve already won.

If he just turns around and fires a fake gun w/ his hand and blows off the smoke at the guy or something even remotely taunting like that then he is the fricking man and a legend. Instead he looks like a cry baby douche.
Im pretty sure he chose the better route. It’s 2018. His decision trumps most others and for more than one reason
