is wearing thin. He plays along, but it has to be getting on his nerves too. He didn't make it in the Bigs. We get it. Enough already.

It literally only works when he is calling an LSU game because of what happened in the 97 CWS.

But the dude was a first round pick and did actually pitch in the Majors. So when it comes to the college game, there is no better voice than his for a commentator. Hell, he is probably ESPN's best baseball color commentator, college or pro.

I agree, I actually like all of them except Burke and he’s ok

It was more injury that derailed his career than lack of talent wasn't it?

Get rid of Perez and stick McDonald in there and that’s solid

Peterson is the best in the business. I’ve got a serious man crush on the guy.

I'd go with Burke instead, which hurts to say about a UT guy. I think it's good to have the hitter/field to go with the pitcher. I wish (and maybe he does but I'm unaware of it) KP had a show about pitching. Basically, give him like a podcast that ESPN can air at like 2AM. The other day when he was talking about a pitcher at the CWS using a different hand action to throw his change-up with different actions was incredible.

I don't care why his MLB career bombed. He clearly knows pitching. Some of the best coaches had bad playing careers. The guy knows his stuff, and he knows how to talk about it in a way that anyone can understand and enjoy. The ability to be in-depth without droning on and on is rare.

I remember when Howard Cosell would try to belittle Jim Palmer for some obscure HR he gave up or Dandy Don for throwing a pick. It was so cringeworthy because it was obvious Howard was dead jealous of the jocks.

I’m surprised no one has tried to hire him as a pitching coach. KP is extremely smart. I love watching games when he’s the color analyst because I learn so much more by just listening to him talk

That was right up there with Perez explaining how to steal off of a LHP and what you are suppose to look for. I can't stand to listen to the guy, but that was some solid insight.
