as bad as LSU played in that final four, GM didn't belong there at all.
i really wish they would have won it all though

Why is Butler a piece of shite? Because they don't have a large marketing budget? Earn it on the field of play.
You're still trying to sell us a bill of goods that Boise stinks because they lost a game half a decade ago.

this is beyond BSU. this is about TCU, BYU, BSU, and the best non-BCS team of the BCS era, Utah
and you can't get mad at using a game from 2005 to judge BSU when they last OOS game they chose to play out of region was in 2005. that's on BSU, and they should feel all the effects of their poor scheduling choices
i give butler more credit than BSU in that butler actually scheduled good teams

they'd be a piece of shite champ
I'll go ahead and give you a fair chance to agree with me because of how incredibly right the following statement is: Unless there is cheating, there is no such thing as a piece-of-shite champ in NCAA basketball.

Shitty teams have been going to the Final Four for years. Georgia without Dominique. Mississippi State. George Mason. Minnesota in 97. Providence. Seton Hall was a runner up!
The NCAA Basketball tourney is what it is.....but nothing matches the passion of fans like determining a NC in College Football. Everyone who screams about it is just an unknowing participant of the massive popularity that makes it #1.

Why? Because you said so? They haven't lost a game this calendar year. Butler has been to four straight tourneys, and won a game in three of them and advanced to the Sweet 16 twice. If they were a small school in a major conference, they would be perfectly legitimatized.
Duke has 6000 undergraduates. Butler has 4000. What's the big difference?

This is about your pathological hatred of mid-majors because it distrubs the natural order of things. Every one of their accomplishments must be discredited. I don't get mad, I think it's funny. You really, really hate underdogs of all stripes and take it as some sort of personal affront.
I think they're fun. But I like fun.

quote:Good point, and not even comparable. Butler will have had to beat a series of elite teams to win their title; BYU got to make their own schedule, which included only a single 7-win team. And BYU was given their title by a panel of voters.
i agree
sincerely,
BYU

Mid Majors in Football should be recognized in the exact way that they are in College Football now. If Texas screws up the clock management against Nebraska, you would have seen that Cincinnati Sugar Bowl team play the team that beat Florida in the title game.
Nothing like finishing your crazy popular sport with a massive dud of a championship game.

So then who should be the champ?
the winner of an 8-team tournament with 3 game series. by far the best and most logical tournament set up
that would even be better than the BCS

not true
unworthy champs who get hot late and win an illogical tournament occur. it has before and will happen in the future

Yeah, all those teams that get hot really late like on Decemember 22nd.

I think we should all take time out to imagine if SFP and his 200,00 thousand posts went to, say, TCU, instead of LSU.
You just know he'd be on TD in 2007 using his faux-legal logic to discuss how bullshite the BCS is and how LSU was a piece of shite champion because his team and/or teams like it didn't get a shot.
All of this anti-Butler, anti-Boise bullshite the dude spits graces TD with is due mostly to his LSU fandom. His team benefits from the BCS. We get it. No, really SFP. We get it. Give the shite a rest.

Why? Because you said so?
as best i can tell, they're not even in the top 10 of the RPI
i don't think their MOV against good teams was that impressive
and they've gotten INCREDIBLY lucky to face 2-3 crucial teams missing a very important player in this tournament
quote:
They haven't lost a game this calendar year.
pre-tourney, what good teams have they beaten?

when you create a system to reward them like big schools when they don't have to do the work, it's not logical
quote:
You really, really hate underdogs of all stripes and take it as some sort of personal affront.
i don't hate underdogs
i hate teams who are given an easier road, given the same opportunities after that, and then are celebrated
it is illogical
it's celebrating a team dodging the best competition...it's almost akin to celebrating cheating

cinci isn't a mid major...cinci is a BCS team

dude. we already live through that year. it was 2006
i accepted the fact that LSU wasn't given a shot to play for the title due to the system, even though we were the 2nd best team

no. it's due to logic
frick giving teams artificial advantages and then celebrating
quote:
His team benefits from the BCS.
not really. LSU has been fricked by it as many years as they've made the title
2001, 2005, and 2006 LSU would have benefited greatly from a bullshite tourney
2003 and 2007 LSU were the best teams all year. i don't fear a tournament in those years
