So has anyone ran with this story? Anymore updates on it?

quote from your link....kinda sums it up...
quote:
McQueary was a 28-year-old man — not some pimply-faced teenager as some have attempted to portray him — when he allegedly witnessed a 50-something man subjecting a kid less than half his age to anal rape. The fact that he didn’t do anything to stop the sexual assault from continuing is unconscionable. The fact that he’s still on the staff in the wake of everything that’s transpired is a mockery, but par for the course for a university that systematically covered up the acts of an alleged pedophile and, due to that cover-up, permitted countless victims to come into contact with the predator.

This is fricking ridiculous.
actually it is a fact. I don't understand the problem?
This is a horrific situation. Everyone involved should die a brutal and horrible death. Penn State will likely never be the same again.
Why is it wrong to talk about how this situation might affect the college football world?

McQueary’s dad
Needs to shut up and hide. It's been proven that he knew of the rape, and did nothing, absolutely nothing. McQueary's did is guilty in this scandal as well.

My guess is McQueary traded security for not going further with the information. He was hushed. Just my guess.
Maybe... but I think firing JoePa would be the bigger risk.

hmmm. . . . I don't know. . ..
How about this: walking in on a child being raped and not doing anything to stop the rape or otherwise help the child?
Posted on 11/10/11 at 10:56 am to Prodigal Tiger
so its possible that JoePa could go down for Perjury too?

This is the point I tired to make yesterday. At whatever point of time any person found out about this and did nothing, they have a hand in any future rapes that are done because they did not do anything to stop it. To me they should be charged with some crime because by not going to the police, they allowed this POS to continue to rape innocent children.
And knowing how f***ed up in the head these kids will be for the rest of their lives and the issues that they will have to deal with every day of their lives, both consciously and subconsciously is very sad. As far as I’m concerned anyone with any knowledge should be in jail also.

If true, holy crap! This might be one of the biggest stories of all time.

It's possible and, IMHO, becoming more probable the longer this goes on.
Him being ousted raised the chances of him getting charged, as it's easier to take on an unemployed great coach than a sitting great coach from a PR perspective.
His conduct in the past week probably hasn't helped either.

Bama's done unless LSU loses twice...
It actually may have the absolute opposite effect on voters. There may be dare I say more sympathy votes for Alabama seeing as they lose computer points thru absolutely no fault of their own. How's that for a twist?
If Oregon beats Stanford and then loses the next week to a good USC team or to a good Arizona State team then all Pac 12 teams will finish behind Bama. It then comes down to Okie State. If they lose to Oklahoma then OU has to jump Alabama which is quite possible. However, it's not an absolute given. Boise State isn't going to jump Bama with only 1 decent win over a 3 loss Georgia team. Long story short, if what I say happens and it very well could. LSU fans better hope that Oklahoma makes it or your nightmare scenario rematch happens. I'm not saying the LSU team is worried or scared at all over a rematch but LSU fans on this board sure as hell seemed to be terrified of the possibility with their obsession over the reasons Bama supposedly should have no business in the rematch discussion.

WTF are you talking about Alabama or LSU in this thread?

quote:They did the right thing, both as a start to hold him accountable, and to relieve the university of the stress and distraction of having him stay on as coach. This is irrespective of his actual involvement in the football team day to day.
Everyone is making it out like Penn State did the right thing by firing JoePa.
Further, to the nation and world, Joe Paterno = Penn State. So it has the effect of showing the world that the school has taken the first step -- a step that it absolutely had to take -- to move forward.

No, it is not.
so, whether or not Penn State loses or wins a game has zero bearing on Alabama's computer rankings? Several of which rely on strength of schedule? I would say that if Penn State loses a game and drops in the polls, it will have an affect on Bama's SOS. The same thing will happen when LSU beats Arkansas.

This is a website that was created for the purpose of discussing college football. The board you are on currently is titled "More Sports Board."
It is only logical that this will eventually lead to a discussion about how it affects college football.
