What an amazingly stupid thing to say.

lol yea, as DA of State College, Pa. A PART TIME JOB, I'm sure he made enemies with many dangerous criminals, much akin to Harvey Dent in Gotham City
There has obviously been some sort of coverup at Penn State. It wouldn't surprise me if Gricar was bought and then later on, started talking and then was silenced.
Have you read about the culture of PA? Do you not see how it's possible, especially considering how controlled the flow of information was?
I said I find it unlikely, but possible. Again, the timing doesn't really seem to work and he could have been dealing with many other personal demons that led to his apparent death.

I would guess its not them. They're sports journalist, and this has moved way beyond a sports story. There are just as good actual journalist out there that would be just as scary to PSU.
I'm interested to hear from Joe Posnanski. He's my absolute favorite sports writer and he is currently embedded at Penn State to write a book on Paterno. Not only has his book taken an unexpected twist, but he has enough info to write an incredible and completely separate book.

To WDE:
I think it makes plenty of sense that his disappearance is related. Even years later. Say an upset family member got to him ... say the DA wanted to talk as he was racked with guilt. Say that the "powers that be" were plain old afraid that he WOULD talk.
My God ... this is all terrible. And who the heck is this interim coach? I mean how does the BOT know if he's in with this stuff or not???

I really will not be shocked if the DA missing is tied to this.
JoPa ordered the hit and used donor money!

How about this part from the link you posted....
"Retiring as an active coach will permit me to devote more time to The Second Mile. As the organization has grown, the demands for my hands-on involvement have increased dramatically. "
Wow...just wow

WDE, heardn WWL I think it was this am that the DA what's his name was at a "happy point" .. he had a girlfriend and they were doing great. Said that he called her and said he was going for a drive but would be back soon. Never came home.
And I would think that if he had "disappeared" TOO SOON after it would be too obvious of a connection.
I watch too much Law & Order and NCIS.

didn't want to believe that the Gricar disappearance was in any way related to this case. I also couldn't understand how there were zero charges filed, or at the very least Sandusky immediately lose his job, after Sandusky admitted that he showered and shared a "naked hug" with a young boy in 1998.
Now, the picture is coming more clear.
Yes it is

The missing DA is a red herring at this point. Sure it could be connected, but let's not lose sight of the key players still walking around free at this point.

I agree. I doubt he's connected to this. Seems too outlandish. But I am prepared to be wrong about it.

We have plenty of real evidence of a sick conspiracy as it is. No need to unnecessarily embellish it at this point. I think the Gricar angle is worthy of mention and should be considered as a very small part of the much larger story that is unfolding.

As much outrage as I felt at Auburn last year and wanted them held accountable for paying player, etc... It almost seems silly at this point to be so infuriated at that situation in light of the PSU scandal. This is as bad as it could be in my opinion and this transcends all football alliances or fandom or legendary coaches or previous bias.

ou guy lay off oates mustache. your idiotic to lump every single PSU person into this mess. He is a good poster and is furious about these events just like most of us are.
Ryno, I'm not trying to stop people from being pissed off, I am furious about this as well. I also know this is a message board and people will post in a way that they normally wouldn't say in person.
I just hope that people understand that no matter how far this rabbit hole goes, there are thousands of us that are infuriated. If I was able to travel to State College today, I would love to give the administration a piece of my mind. Email will have to suffice for now.
And therick, I am Penn State, which is why I'm fighting so hard right now to preserve what little image the school has left. This whole scenario is not a reflection of the strong academic presence of the school. I would be doing the same for LSU (my other alma mater).

I've never said I believed in any conspiracy theories regarding anything.
I don't see how it's so unreasonable to think the DA's disappearance could be connected to this seemingly massive cover up orchestrated by a few sick people.
We already know information was strictly controlled in their community
