Once the the game reaches the 3rd overtime, timeouts should not be allowed. Kirby Smart calling a timeout for every single 2 pt conversion vs GTech was terrible to watch and slowed the game down way too much. I thought we were going to be in for another 45 minute overtime in the SEC championship game if it went to 2 pt conversions.

Yea if you can’t call the right play without seeing the formation first that’s some horse shite.

Agreed. No need for timeouts during the 2 point conversion nonsense. Just drags game out way way too long.

Each team submits an envelope with a bid for their starting position (for example, own 25). Worse starting position gets the ball first. Each team guaranteed a possession. If still tied it becomes sudden death.

My bid is the 1 yard line. Other team gets the ball first (more than likely) and then i get it last with 1st down on the 1 yard line. How does this make sense again?

No, you might say own 25 and they say own 20. They start at their own 20 and the game proceeds normally from there. You get it wherever you take it away, return the punt, or return the kickoff.

I used to prefer college rules where you get possessions at the 25 and then after 2OT you have to go for 2.

Don't like new rules and prefer NFL now to the new way, especially since NFL started guaranteeing a possession for each team can't be won on first possession by a FG.

-Start the OT from the 40 or midfield. Make a team at least work for some yardage instead of basically already having 3 points in the bag from the outset.
-As teams keep mathcing point for point, move the start of the next OT period closer. The 30, 20, 10, etc.

Eventually someone will break and the game will end. This frufru back and forth 2 point contest is just a joke.

If you score a TD on the first possession that’s game no?

Agreed, make them get a first down for a realistic chance at points.

I don’t think you’d need to do that if you moved the starting position back. There would be enough variables (missed fg, failed 4th down) to end games before it got to several overtime’s

I think you just do NFL's OT and guarantee each team a possession.

Yeah i guess that's true. I guess my thought process was that if you're in a defensive slugfest and netiher team is doing shite, moving forward would encourage points.

They should go back to the old school college over time rules. The 2 point fest is gay.

I’d be fine with ball on 25 and if you score a TD have to go for 2 every time.

For 100 years we had the same rules and now they change every season. Crazy when you think about it

I'd rather just start at the 50. Don't start at a spot where a team can have negative yards on a possession and still be in scoring range.

Pate had an interesting idea. Something like each team is guaranteed a possession starting on the 50. Put two minutes on the clock (each team would get two minutes on offense; so it’d reset to two minutes when Team B takes over at the 50 after Team A’s possession, no matter how much time’s left when Team A scores/turns the ball over); give each team one or two timeouts. Realistically have to get at least one first down to be in FG range.

Should make it end relatively quickly, but is still at least close to “real” football with some time/game pressure.
