The more I watch the replay the more I can't believe that play wasn't blown dead.
I just can't. The refs absolutely seemed to have OU's best interest.

Caleb Williams looked pretty arrogant today.
He seemed all about himself. He was laughing as the other team scored. Then he was laughing and smiling after throwing the interception. Then you have him wearing his mouthpiece like an idiot. What was the point of that?

It sounds crazy, but pay attention to the games today and how long it takes for the whistle to be blown and progress stopped. I’m telling you for a fact that it’s not even the most egregious play of that game .
Go back and watch the 1st quarter when Kansas ran a qb sneak , they waited a full second and a half longer than they did in that play. It’s gotten worse this year. Hell it happened to lsu recently way worse

Okay I have supposedly found the ruling on that play and it is bullshite contradictory in several ways.
It was ‘legal’ only because the RB, who passed then, LOS, had his entire body driven backwards behind the LOS, which actually makes it a legal forward lateral.
- If a player is driven backwards, per every other game I’ve seen and refs fricking love calling it, it’s down by forward progress and the play must be called dead. You see it all the time with fumbles and they say forward progress had stopped so no turnover.
Also, the fact that you can even install contradictory rules like forward progress and then also a rule allowing forward passes to become legal again following a player being pushed backwards completely behind the LOS is moronic.
But hey, it was legal per the book.
