They need to be in Div 1 like I need a hole in my cranium. They were just fine in the Southland and still would be but I guess keeping up with Tech was more important than being successful and actually winning. For God's sake, they won a NC in 1987. No it would be impossible to go back now. They need the beatdown rent a win checks from the big boys so they can fund all the other sports that people in Monroe really give zero fricks about.

The Cajuns didn’t play LSU in 2018, so I expect they won’t be listed on TD. And I was responding to a specific poster’s graphic which I included in mine.
It’s been a while since I reviewed the media guide and it does seem that they have dropped the Louisiana-Lafayette as an acceptable alternate name. So no way to avoid triggering the easily triggered.

Who is pettier? UL for preferring to be called Louisiana on any type of media guide or LSU for refusing to play along with it?
Like seriously Nick Saban called them Louisiana when he was talking about playing them in his press conference. If LSU wouldn’t care so much and call them Louisiana then we could all go about our lives. 99% of media outlets use it now and the only ones who don’t are because LSU went out of their way to make sure it says UL-Lafayette or UL L

You’re right. Texas is the worst. Louisiana is such a better state. Our flagship is so much better than their flagships.

It doesn’t bother me what so ever. I’m all for other schools in La doing good. I can see the bigger picture unlike most people. Them being “Louisiana” is pretty cool branding wise. Just like La Tech has a good brand. It’s all good

Because if a school becomes known as Louisiana, it begins the process of creating an in-state rival to LSU. Michigan-Michigan State; Oregon-Oregon State; Iowa-Iowa State, etc. etc.
