It's GONE down, not WENT down. Please tell me you're not an LSU grad, and that you're just here for the football team.

Your answer is "no." See Tulane 1998.

wish UL-Monroe would do something about this. It hurts them and makes them seem like the "lesser" school.

Well, ULM is a much smaller school with a smaller endowment and smaller athletic budget. The schools are not on an equal footing...at all.

Maybe that doesn't give ULL the right to be called "Louisiana", but you seem to think the schools are equal in every measurable way. They aren't.

The pinnacle is UCF or Houston type support. Outside of the very elite programs, there is no atmosphere in college football that’s better than UCF right now.

TD >>>> ESPN

See, if ESPN just used the name that UL Lafayette submits in their media guide as one of the two options (Louisiana-Lafayette) like TD does, we’d have so many less triggered folks on the MSB.

This is worse than TDS. You're saying that a STATE university appropriated the name of the STATE that funds it? And that they did so illegally and amorally? That's the dumbest shite posted in this thread that's full of dumb shite. Congrats.

2. 'Moral' reason??? Really? You consider this a LEGAL issue and a MORAL offense as well, do you? Good grief, is your dick really that small?

You are thinking about dick size because you watch too much porn. This is also why you’re incapable of evaluating moral questions.

There is nothing to discuss. We ARE Louisiana. End of story. Nobody that matters gives a frick what some jackoffs on tigerdroppings think. The battle has been won.

You're mischaracterizing your pettiness as morality. How is it moral to want to stifle the advancement, or at least acknowledgement, of an institution that brings economic development and healthy competition to higher education in Louisiana? Regarding an issue that has no bearing on any other institution in this state. Can you demonstrate any losses that another might incur from ULL referring to itself as Louisiana or the University of Louisiana? Can you demonstrate that the improvement of one university must come at the expense of the others? If you say it is a matter of morals then surely you can show the amorality of it all, right?

If you're going to proofread someone's post, at least catch ALL of the mistakes. Not a good look for higher ed in our state.

Only thing I asked and nobody from Tulane or ULL could answer is does Tulane have a legal case for the name University of Louisiana or did they give it up? I understand they would never actually bring it to court or settle but just was curious.

That’s exactly how Boise was back in their run. They were a legit program. I remember when they played Oregon. It was a big game.

CHECK.....MATE

Too many people in this state like to “keep things the way they are.” And where has that gotten us? A ranking of 49/50 in higher ed?

If there’s people out there who really think that UL(L) branding themselves as LOUISIANA will have any effect to deligitimizing LSU, then LSU has a lot more problems than what is presented to us now.

The same ones who say ulala and usl are the same ones who scream at the sky when someone else calls them Louisiana.

Damn. I feel so intellectually disabled because I didn’t graduate from the mighty LSU. Aka the Yale of the Deep South. Good thing everyone who spends their hard earned money on LSU athletics has an LSU diploma at home. Sure couldn’t imagine a world where non alumni are allowed to like college sports teams.
