and yet somehow no basketball on today. im not complaining as i get it's just a crapshoot with series and scheduling and all that, but im kind of complaining

It's not really a crapshoot, they just don't want games on Saturday as the numbers are much lower. The Mavs-Suns should be playing today based on normal schedules.
Not complaining though as I get three NHL games to get my full focus

This reminds me of my favourote Tom Fitzmorris line ever - he was coming back from a 30 second bottom of the hour sports blurb one afternoon and he did his little "doo dee dooo" singsong intro and asked with genuine surprise "Theres a professional sports team named the 'Penguins'"?
He really enunciated "Penguins" properly like you'd expect - legit gave it 4 syllables

I’m a super casual fan but I swear it feels like 90% of all NHL playoff series go to Game 7 and 90% of all NHL playoff games go to OT

NBA playoff scheduling is terrible. Takes forever to finish a series.

You’ll get your wish in the Conference Finals. The NBA Finals begin on June 2 and Game 7 is on June 19. Absurd.
