Watch the Lance Moore link here. That is still a catch by extending the ball

The problem is that used to be a catch. Then the NFL screwed up the Megatron catch which cost the Lions a game. It was an absolutely garbage call. Instead of saying it was a mistake, they doubled down on the call. It was NEVER interpreted that way prior to the Megatron call. Since then, this is the terrible interpretation of the rule we are stuck with it seems.

The Lance Moore catch isn't even the same thing. Why is this being brought up?

Not comparable.

Moore caught, extended the ball across the goal line, then the defenders leg knocked it out.

But once it extended away from his body, which did not happen today, and broke the plane, that is a td.

Dez fell to the ground and did not extend the ball away from his body.

What is the difference? Lance has the ball, falls to the ground, reaches, then drops it. What the hell is the difference?

The ball did not extend.

Plus, Moore had control of his body, dez did not.

Dez was falling. Moore caught it, turned his body towards the end zone and extended the ball across the plane.

I said as soon as I saw the replay it would be challenged and overturned. It's a crap rule but I've seen it applied enough times.

The! catch' that for the life of me I could never understand was Harry Douglas in the NFCCG where he slid 5+ yards with the ball while catching it, and they ruled it a catch.

The worst type of fan is one who THINKS he knows the rules, but is clueless.

I always enjoy watching Fantards try to twist the rule book to fit their bias.

yep. no fumble for obvious reasons, never touched so not down thus incomplete. woulda been better off being touched as hit hit ground, therefore not needing to hold it all the way even after hitting ground.

This. I've been trained by the NFL.

I used to say "nice catch" on that play. Now I say, "that will be overturned even thought he caught it."
