Perhaps but a far cry from 50 plus and very different from the Colts-Chiefs

I'm a traditionalist. When I was a kid in the late-sixties and early seventies, the Giants had the small "ny" on their helmets. I just prefer that logo. I'm a sucker for the old NFL look.

For the record, I also have hated the change the Patriots made to their uniforms years ago. Their helmet logos look like something out of the old WFL or Arena football leagues. The old helmets with the minute-man centering the football was much cooler, imho.

The classic chiefs uniform is all-white on the road.

I am not a fan of the black pants for the Saints. It looks like they are wearing yoga pants. They need to add a stripe to those pants.

Ughhh. As long as we have been alive, the Cowboys have looked virtually the same. Is that acceptable.

Still pisses me off brother. I pull for the Texans but nowhere near the same emotional investment that I had with the Oilers.

FYI, I blame Lanier more than Bud. Bud was just at the forefront of what all the owners would eventually do...demand new stadiums. Doing it during the rebuild was typical bad timing for him though. I do blame him for that.

Me too. That color-combination is sharp as hell.

That's one of the few things I respect about the Cowboys organization, the fact that they haven't ruined the look of their traditional uniforms/helmets with some bizarre change just for the sake of change, like some of the teams do. From the looks of some of the awful changes to some of the team uniforms, I can only guess that the owners let their wives or daughters choose the designs.

Cowboys uniforms are nearly unchanged since the 70s. Only small tweaks. Navy instead of Royal on the road. Silver/Turquoise pants have been around since Tex Schramm saw the color on the interior of a car. What’s changed is the material in which they are made.

I just read some interview with their team manager

Interview with team manager

quote:

Obviously, with the introduction of HD, the color is more true to what you see on TV to what you hold in your hands. In the old days, they would be wearing that pant color, but in photos – especially at Texas Stadium with the way you’d go from the shade to the sun – the pant never really looked that color on TV or in photos,” McCord explained. “As the highlights of the TV became more clear and the pictures became clearer, now it’s really a true representation of what you’re seeing on TV and in photos – that turquoise, greenish color with the royal and white striping on the side panel.”

Exactly. The Jacksonville Jaguars have existed since 1995 and have had 3 different brand idenities.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had 3 different brand/logo changes since I have been alive (33 years)

The Nsw York Jets have had two different identities in that time frame.

Ditto for the New England Patriots.

Save for a couple of throwbacks, and slight tailoring difference as the years have gone by, and uniform providers have changed, the Cowboys (and the Colts and Chiefs) have largely remained the same.

Raiders as well. Steelers, other than the number font.

For my money, the Raiders have the best uniforms in the entire league, along with the Packers

Forgot about them. Classic look. Bears are pretty much the same now that I think about it.

I was a huge Dolphins fan growing up in the 70's and into the 80's. I wish the Dolphins would bring back their old uniform and helmet schemes like they had in the 70's. Those were some damn sharp-looking uni's. The uniforms and helmets they have now are pathetic compared to the old ones. It makes me sad every time I see the Dolphins having to play in those crappy uniforms of today.

The Chiefs have some of the best-looking uniforms in the league, but I hate it when they wear the all-red ones. They should stick with the all-whites and the red-jersey/white pants of the old days.

At least the Dolphins tried to fix their uniforms this year. Dropping the Navy was needed and the thick orange number outline helps

Yeah, those Giants threads are a big upgrade over the hideous crap they wear now. I love the red stripe(s) on the helmet, sleeves, and pants. The gray pants they wear now with the blue jerseys look like shite.

You read my mind. I hope I live to see the day the Texans are rightfully renamed the Oilers. That beautiful “oil rig” logo and baby blue jerseys are begging to come out of the basement.
