Taulia gets compared to his brother, but he is a very good QB. He has been under excellent coaches going on 7 years including Thompson High School in Alabama. Probably due to COVID with an asterick, but he's also the career Big 10 passing yard leader. He is consistent high 60% passing completion.

Someone is going to get a very good QB.

Trying to block 6 with5 and a guy auditioning at center tends to do that to you.

Sounds like a coaching problem, not an opt out problem.

BREAKING: Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, @PeteNakos_ confirms.

quote:

The Maryland quarterback entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer on Friday, according to multiple reports. The move comes as Tagovailoa doesn’t currently have any college eligibility left.

A member of the 2019 recruiting class, Tagovailoa has already played five seasons of college football and used his extra eligibility the NCAA granted players because of the COVID-19 pandemic. He spent the first season of his career at Alabama with older brother and current Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa before transferring to Maryland ahead of the 2020 season.

Tagovailoa immediately became Maryland’s starting quarterback after he arrived on campus and played in four of the team’s five games in 2020. He then played in 37 games over the next three seasons for the Terrapins and started all 12 regular season games for the team in 2023 before opting out of the bowl game.

Agreed and no disrespect intended to your team. They came to play.

Taulia is the best bet out of any of the portal QBs.

Chances that he already knows where he is going?

100%. His Dad runs the ship and has probably been working on deals since mid season. He also opted out of the bowl game against Auburn.

The family obviously wants him in Miami with Tua. The only issue is if he’s even eligible. It’s no guarantee ncaa will grant him the extra year

He’s a turnover machine. Hell, his nickname is Taulia Turntheballova.

Is there a compelling reason to give this guy another year? Or, is the NCAA just going to flush the entire rule book down the toilet now, in the NIL era?

Pete Nakos
@PeteNakos_

LSU transfer offensive tackle Zalance Heard is making his first round of portal visits, multiple sources tell @On3sports
.

The former five-star recruit is expected at Oklahoma and Tennessee this weekend.

I’m not going to start a new thread for this but the amount of key Ohio Stage defensive starters who are rumored to be staying is bananas. Already had 3 of them announce their return.

Fix the OL and the 2024 team could be filthy.

Good dude, but I hope the new OSU QB likes picking up snaps off the ground.

Imagine Ryan Day watching the Rose Bowl and thinking "this is the guy I need to beat Michigan."

Have you seen our O line?

Is his only problem the snapping? If so I would think that could be fixed.
