The guy lost his starting job this season. Some of these mercenaries should be working for minimum wage. Buyer beware.

If he does thats smart. Dillon is not only a great qb he is a great teacher. You will get him 110% all the time. He has helped our 5* true freshman this year who is our starter next year.

Your fans will love him other than long throws. He’ll make a tough run to get first down as well. He’s been in pressure situations so that helps in tight games.

I think this was a smart move because his NFL grade wasn’t as high as he wanted. Going to a new system, new OC (away from Lebby) and if he does great he will enhance his NFL stock. I expect him to be in NY next Dec. That too would help his NFL aspirations.

Gabriel should be very good in that system

If he can hit a deep ball it’d open a lot up. Nix was solid, but couldn’t throw deep at all and went with too many predetermined reads

He survived Willie Taggart as well. And his sorry arse coach with the Charges. I mean damn.

That’s exactly what the coaches want him to do

This is the type of guy I'd like to have as backup at LSU but he can probably find a starting gig somewhere based on experience alone. I think the committee changed the game this year with the idea that if your QB gets hurt and your backup struggles, an undefeated season won't get you in. Now you kind of need a journeyman backup who can have a basic competency running the offense in the case of an injury.

Stick to the SEC bub.

Cristobal can recruit and can coach the O line. That’s it.

That's why he hires an OC. His second at Miami in as many years. Kirby doesn't know QBs, he knows defense. Monkin and Bobo had to do the rest. Mario had it right in Oregon so we will see.

People like to shite on Cristobal but he was better at Oregon than Lanning was. Cristobal won a couple of pac 12 titles and a rose bowl I think

The pac 12 was a far better conference this year than when Cristobal was coaching Oregon. I think he's a great recruiter, but a mediocre game day coach

I wouldn’t overreact to that too much. That travesty of a decision took a lot of things to happen to get there, the right number of teams and the right team to go undefeated

With the 12 team playoff expansion, the only teams that would have to worry about this would be the teams on the fringe of that 12 team cutoff, which likely would have 1-3 losses anyway regardless of the QB injury.

Plus with auto bids, you can have a combination of “deserving teams” and “the best teams”. I’m not a huge proponent of playoff expansion, but it does more or less solve this particular issue from happening

Good QB depth is good to have regardless, but I wouldn’t make it a bigger deal based on the FSU situation this year

And you may want to rebutt with more than your general opinion.

Mario took over a 7-6 Oregon team from Taggart. 9-4 the next year and 12-2 the next. COVID year was a total bust for the Pac 12 and they went 4-3. Mario went 10-3 in his final year at Oregon.

What part of that would suggest he can't coach?
