I don’t personally know one person who is super interested in high school sports after leaving high school. At least not enough to talk about it on the internet.
Then why even come into these threads. Go suck a dick in another thread

I went to Brother Martin. When I read the title I said watch it be Brother Martin

it’s a common theme for Brother Martin football. They’re really cheap and don’t want to pay stadium fees so they’d rather play away games and make the parents/fans travel.
But won’t the schedule flip in 2027?

Also, I’m going to say it. Gormley kind of low key sucks.
$15 to park or you take your chances in the neighborhood
Concessions suck
Seats are way too far from field
Day games are brutal hot
At least they got new turf for this season
Side topic… Chalmette is playing Curtis at Muss Bertolino. I know space is tight with Zephyr Field unavailable, but how in the world is a Catholic League team playing at Bertolino? I think their capacity is like 1500.
I mean Chalmette gonna lose 83-0 (Curtis will miss an XP) but we do travel well in the NOLA area.

Ok… but you gotta see the humor here, right?

Ha. This is completely made up. The ironic part of this statement is that as Brother Martin is currently building a new on campus baseball stadium / football practice facility, the team rents and practices at Gormley basically every day.

Now we’re talking. Acadiana, Barbe, Southside, STM. Acadiana finally has some competition, instead of being the de facto champs every year. I think they are 9 out 10 champions since 2016. And now STM can’t just cake walk into a state championship. Had to go beat up on the little guys to claim their bogus 5 titles.

They put new stands at Bertolino for the visitors side so it’s no longer a joke there
I will agree we’re not there to beat Karr and Curtis, but we’ll probably be better than the last time we were in the Catholic League (which was better than Tucker’s first two years in 07-08). We followed up the 11-12 cycle with a two year 13-14 cycle where we didn’t make the playoffs in the JP district. It clicked for us when we played John Ehret close in 2014, and then swept the rest of the district, and we haven’t looked back since.
07 scores (counting HC too even though they were in 4A for all of these seasons)- 0-42, 0-42, 0-49, 0-19, 6-45 (I still remember how crazy we went for that 6 vs Rummel on a school record touchdown pass)
08 scores- 3-36, 10-41, 0-49, 0-40, 0-41 (a group of kids that had Katrina, school consolidation, three head coaches, and moved up in class twice in their high school career)
11 scores- 20-17 win over HC, 0-28, 12-38, 13-35 (against West Jeff under Marcus Scott which was also no joke then), 6-48 (those four losses were our only losses and we missed the state playoffs by one spot, after #33 Central bumped us out due to winning a district championship)
12 scores- 6-31, 7-35, 13-34, 7-29 (in 13 we upset West Jeff which you could argue was us turning the corner before 2014), 0-49

Luckily for them, their three toughest games are "home games."
