It's ridiculous St. Paul's has made this much of a leap since I left but good on them.

the NOLA.COM top 50... #24 Catholic (BR)

How will division 1 shape up this year?
I think a couple schools may play up from D2 this year.
Tuerlings and at Thomas more are supposedly.... I think the 4a schools had the option to go either way....
Not sure if 3a schools can go up this year from div II

OK, fair enough. Which teams in the NOLA/southeast La area do you think is going to be competing for state in 5A? Hahnville, Desty, Ponchy...?
I would love it if my boys could even be mentioned but I can't ever see Ponchy playing for a state title. I hope someday I have to eat them words.

Not to hijack, but a friend played FB at St. Paul's and graduated in 2010.
I think he got to play against JJ, but i'm not too sure.

Shaw has really fallen off if they can't crack the top 50.

Shaws team has like 50 kids. It's sad.

some of these have never even been to the finals.... - at least not since integration....
funny you got 3 schools on here that refused to play a school not listed yet...hmmmm

After last year would've thought Episcopal might have made this list(maybe number 50), especially with some teams that are on it now. Not totally surprised they didn't though.

I think the signs are pointing to moving up, especially if Evangel and St. Thomas More move up.

Same here. We were not good while I attended.

I don't think it's that crazy to think that one of the largest and best funded private schools in the state is starting to get good at a sport that requires a lot of infrastructure and financial support. The population of the Northshore is booming with New Orleanians who know a thing or two about football.

Ghost that's like are tarpon waiting to crash a school of pogies....until he sees what the trout and jack crevelle do....
Ironically....
Looking at rosters and info sheets on players on teams in this weeks legion state tourny there are some hold backs at schools throwing rocks at JC
And JC best player....is right age for grade....

Well, like usual, everyone is against something until becomes advantageous for them. Interestingly, baseball doesn't use graduated seniors during the summer. All those boys playing are returning next year.
I can tell you, I can't wait to see some of these regular season football games. The pre district schedule is another awesome lineup.
