As an amateur on that hole, we didn't have the drop area. My buddy hit it in the water and hit another one.

You couldn't just go to the drop area? Or you wouldn't let him?

The once a round they hit an atrocious shot, the crowd can be a help in finding it. Other than that, everything else they do to trump up a course evens that out plus some
I'm talking about if you or I were to play at a setup like that. I'm not trying to claim I could do well at all. I only shoot in the 70s about 20% of the time I play. But it seems like I hit shots that punish me around my local courses that might not at some of these events. Like, my lowest scores come at the nicest course I regularly play. It's always in amazing shape and I know what I can and can't do there, it's consistent.

3 yards off the fairway? Damn, tough track. I just don't think you guys get how good those guys are.

I agree wit you baw. My home course is way more troublesome and penalizing than old course. Real talk.

I'm not talking about that shite. At least not the back 9 with bad weather. I bet some of you guys could have done well on the front this morning though.

Wish me luck at the US mid am qualifying here in a couple of months. Have to aim for a score of -2 or -3 to qualify, but at least it's doable.

That's how most people are. I play better at better conditioned courses. Takes a variable out of the game. Makes putting better. Their courses are conditioned well AND tough. Tour greens many times are on the verge of dying by the end of the week to try to get them to 12-13+ on the stimpmeter.

It's like when the pros say a 10 handi couldn't break 100 at a U.S. Open. Shooting even at your local track, even if it hosts a PGA tour event, is nothing like the conditions and setup they play week after week.

But now that you mention it, the crowd is probably their biggest advantage over us, as far as not losing balls, etc

Janky is correct. Most people have no clue how good those guys are ..

I would bet big money that 80% of the field today would have shot 63 or lower at Beaver Creek today .. That's 80% of the field ... the highest score would be 73ish

If you remember I played with CR at the wetlands from the tips that is rated 75. He shot 65 with ease. He doesn't even have his card anymore. How these guys think they could break 80 is laughable.

Oh I wasn't questioning what they do or how I'd "score"(lol) at a PGA event.

Last week there were rockets headed OB that caught shins and foreheads so I was just wondering how much that changes the dynamics of things. It seems like the pros "get" to play shots for damn near anywhere. That's all.
