97 was one good test of golf. Two bad we aren't seeing those same conditions this week.

Also there is a new guy in charge of course sey up for the usga. Last year was his first year and he took some heat about pebble. I am sure that was in his mind this year while prepping this course.

Next year at will be nothing nice

Rub of the green. I think I'm last on a few pages.

Next year will be brutal. I don't think anyone has ever finished under par at Olympic.

The two winners before Janzen's Even 280 in '98 finished under par.

Mike Davis set up Pebble last year. This is his first year not doing it, since he was named executive director. Which is good, because he feels good play should be rewarded

They were just there last year and in 2008. That would have been 3 out of 4 years on the West Coast, and 4 out of 5 since they're going to Olympic next year.

Good point, I had forgotten the last couple were out this way.

They interviewed him on the Golf Channel this morning. He's still involved with course setup.

Southern Hills would have been nice this year. Low 100 degree temps, and high winds

Yea, they said earlier on the broadcast that no one ever finished under par at Olympic for a US Open, but that's not true. Something else Miller was wrong about. Getty ready for a huge sloberfest next year with Miller...he grew up playing at Olympic, so you're going to hear nothing except how idiotic all the players are playing the course.

That's some BS that Garrigus didn't get a drop out of the walkway, unless he chose not to.
