I saw serg click his heels as he skipped down the fairway after that amazing shot. That is the old serge. Too bad rory is destroying it or serg could be in great position on sunday

Absolutely destroying the US Open. Unreal.

I don't know. I think the weather has more to do with this than anything, aside from McIlroy playing his arse off. With all the rain and excluding Rory, -5 is still a decent US Open score. If it was dry, they'd be closer to par.

We have thunder in Fairfax, Va. Hope the sirens hold off in Bethesda.

I know I'm late asking... but what did the announcer say disrupted Fredrik Jacobson on his bird putt on the 18th green?
Whatever it was he gave that person the staredown for a good 5 sec.
btw, I can't believe how many good scores we are seeing today.

The pro tracer that NBC has is really cool. It's the one thing that NBC has on the other networks. CBS needs to get one of those.

The USGA from 15 or 20 years ago probably not. If they host it again, I suspect the rough might be just a tad bit longer.

He was just waiting for the player on 10 to putt so the crowd wouldn't be cheering in his backswing.

Its not the -5, its the number of golfers under par. They only host every 15 years or so anyways and the USGA is looking at new courses (see Chambers Bay and Erin Hills).

I didn't think the little guy had it in him to go 266 yards.

Right, and they wouldn't be under par if it was dry.

This is only the third time they've had the Open...64 and 97 were the other two. So, you're right, they probably won't be back soon, but I don't think it's because of the scores.

Chambers Bay is overrated and not really ready for an Open. I think the weather cycle got them more then anything on this one. I think they should have been on the West Coast with the open this year.

They were just there last year and in 2008. That would have been 3 out of 4 years on the West Coast, and 4 out of 5 since they're going to Olympic next year.
