Turns out the Colts might not look as bad as I thought blowing all that money on Landry.
They were going to overpay whoever they signed.

Must suck to have more cap space than you know what to do with.

Getting under the salary cap isn't the only challenge that NFL teams face. Some franchises, especially small market teams, will have to find a way to add enough salary to reach the league's cap floor. This season will be the first under the latest collective bargaining agreement that will force teams to spend at least 88.8 percent of the salary cap over a four-year period.
As mentioned above, the Colts have plenty of space and they will have to spend it. Their current commitments are around $78 million, almost $30 million short of the cap floor. That's more than a few expensive veterans, or about 60 minimum-salary players. Roster limitations means Indianapolis will be looking at the former.

Article on Welker I found one sentence interesting, Broncos were worried their offer was insulting to his camp. I think he took their deal at a lower yearly rate because he believes they have best chance to beat the Pats. So it is a bit personal between the two parties

Patriots have been notoriously cheap with their premier players.
Watch for the Patriots to snag Welker back up on the cheap when he realizes how much Peyton neglects his slot receiver. (Branch 2.0)

I'm thinking 80 catches 1000 yards for Welker this season. I think Decker will see a drop in his numbers though as Thomas sees more freedom with teams accounting for Welker.

We got a younger Welker now though.
Oh and Manning can't beat the Pats, we're his Florida when he was in college. Pure ownership.

Good luck keeping him from injuries.

Peyton loves hanging his slot receiver out to dry over the middle.

Yeah he does. Welker might get killed by Berry

But he has extended his NFL for another year. Assuming he makes the team.
Per the Associated Press, Anderson signed a one-year deal on Wednesday.

Leon Washington and Donald Jones visited the Pats
Looks like the Pats are ready to move on from Demps. He seems more interested in track than football

Sean Smith to the KC Chiefs. They're trying to matchup with Denver with their secondary.

KC is going to be a team.... Draft another offensive lineman to let Smith sit all day behind

Interesting...
quote:
CSN New England reports Danny Amendola completed his Patriots contract on Tuesday, and that it wasn't a reaction to Wes Welker leaving for Denver.
Because the Amendola contract was kept under wraps for a day, the media took its Wednesday announcement as a reaction to Welker's Broncos deal. Beat writer Tom Curran reports the Patriots locked in Amendola once Welker decided to test the market. It sounds like the Pats were willing to pay both Amendola and Welker -- they offered the latter a two-year, $10 million deal -- but Welker got more money from Denver and will have a bigger role in their offense.
