Boras has been pissed at the Cubs since the service time issue with KB in 2015. I get it...that decision probably cost Boras $5-$6M alone.

Just a theory, and maybe it's far fetched, but I think Harper has made it known that he wants to go to Chicago, and Theo knows it. That's why all of a sudden they "can't afford him" after talking about "a certain generational talent being available next year" at this time last year. Now all of a sudden they might trade his best buddy who is also Boras' client. Just really weird things going on right now.

I'm going to throw a shite-fit if Tyler fricking Chatwood has any effect on this team other than skyrocketing the walk rate.

We knew, even in 2015 that was gonna be an issue down the road. Boras has just been holding that card until the appropriate time.

you're reading too much into it

Boras is notorious for playing hard ball with all his clients. He of all people understands the business

Maddon will figure out some dumb way to spin this into a good thing.
“Great chance to get a new perspective for the guys”

Hickey leaving Maddon on a one year deal not renewed......

While I am a Maddon fan seems like something is not adding up behind the scenes hope my gut is wrong.

I liked Hickey thought other than Chatwood (not Hickeys fault) he got a lot out of the staff last year.

It’s ok, we have Kintzler.

WTF is the front office doing? The dude openly said he wanted to come back.

He’s a 35 yo reliever who’s stint with the Cubs were an outlier compared to his recent seasons. There’s a lot of RP out there, no sense in paying up for a guy like Chavez

Cubs have acquired Ronald Torreyes from Yankees for PTBNL or cash. Torreyes was originally in Sean Marshall deal with Reds in 2011, now returns to Cubs organization.
