you could have gotten a player similar to Ingram in the 2nd... or 3rd... or 4th... probably 5th...

I'm sorry man but that is just stupid. You can't have the "this is a weak RB class" argument and "could have waited till later" argument too.
If so, then name me the 5th round RB with Ingrams talent.

You're looking quite dumb here. The Saints gave up a second rounder this year and their first round pick next year for ingram.

So a superbowl winning coach and GM look dumb as well? That's pretty stupid.

Ingram was a top 15 player in this draft, there just wasn't much need for a RB in the earlier picks.

We essentially gave up a second round pick for a first round talent.

The first round picks basically trade off.

Why?

This is a weak RB class.

The separation between Ingram and a guy like Ridley is minimal. Ridley will go somewhere from round 3 (not likely) to round 5.

There's not a single RB stud in the class, including Ingram. I meant it was weak in that regard. It's deep in that there are a lot of solid to good guys that will have 3-5 year careers playing in time shares (which is why the RB is even less valuable and no reason to waste a future 1st on).

Yes because a one year starter with a decent season compares to Ingrams Heisman.
I love Ridey, but not even close.

What happens if Bush and PT stay healthy?

How many carries does our 1st and 2nd round pick get for the season?

he wasn't a top 15 pick

Doesn't matter if bush and pt both stay healthy cause I'm thinking one of them won't be a saint anyway.

Ridley faced 7 top 35 rush D's in 2010.
Ingram faced 2 top 35 rush D's in 2009.

Ridley tested better than Ingram in every measurement of explosiveness (sans the first 10 yards of the 40, which I'm not sure about).

Ridley had a better season than Ingram last year.
