This is a weak RB class
Agreed. But just because the class is weak shouldn't hurt the top RB's value. It should actually make him more valuable.
But apparently where we disagree is that I think Ingram is head a shoulders better than the the rest of the class except maybe Williams.
I'm sorry the Ridley arguments hold no water with me. I heard the same exact thing around here about Charles Scott last year. How did that work out? And that was a guy Ridley couldn't even beat out. Ingram is a Heisman winner and in a whole different level.

he wasn't a top 15 pick
No shite.
But most people had him rated as a top 15 talent in the draft.
Having running backs who can pound the ball is extremely important in our offense. We have to have healthy backs.
The more depth here the better.

If I go through your post history what is the chance I can find a post of you saying that guys like Kiper , Mcshay and other draft gurus dont know shite?

there isn't much need b/c the NFL is fricking flooded with capable RBs
Except for the Saints!!!!
What is wring with filling a need?? Since when is that a bad thing?
Apparently you liked Brees hauking it up 60 times a game and throwing a career high int's because he didn't have a run game.

Not sure if I've ever commented on either. But I'm not just talking about them.
I could be wrong but you could look.

that type of thinking makes no economic sense
his value is his value

we had 17,000 injuries to RBs in 2010. that's bad luck

How many RBs have had great careers that weren't taken in the 1st or 2nd round? Yeah, you can find a guy to fill in for a few years, but if you want a real franchise RB then you take them early.

Balanced running game got us to a super bowl.

Your telling me you don't like what Ingram could potentially do to the offense over Ivory/Hamilton/Mediocrity/Thomas combination?

Ugh, not for me.
Ridley is a better back than Scott.

Product of his system... right place, right time. He played well.
