The new look Mavericks

with Klay Thompson won their opening game against the Spurs last night. Before the game Barkley said Klay was washed and would not help the Mavericks and he picked the Spurs to win the game….Thompson shot 6 for 10 from three and scored 22 points. So after the game Barkley said he wasn’t impressed with Thompson because they “were playing the Spurs”, even though he picked them to win. Sports media.

We really won’t see if Clay is back to normal until the playoffs, I think he will always be great at shooting and moving of the screens, but where he struggled last year was defense. Unfortunately teams don’t really start playing defense until the playoffs, so I will let that be the judge. He did have 3 steals last night though so he was at least active defensively.

Adding one player to a team doesn’t really constitute a team having a “new look.”

I can see both sides of the argument before we really have much of a sample. Klay has been slow and injured in the past so that is always a possibility, however, I think Luka is about as good as it gets at drawing defenders and making the perfect pass. Klay will have many of the same spot up open 3s that hes always been use to.

You know whether you change your entire life based on your politics or change nothing, you still only get one vote?
People seem to believe nowadays that having politics as their entire identity somehow makes a difference compared to just showing up and voting then not thinking about it for the rest of the year.
like how big do you think your sphere of influence is? 10 votes? 50 votes? 100 votes? surely not any more than that, and that is still not even a noticeable drop in the bucket compared to 200 million votes.

I thought any change to a starting lineup was a "new" look, but I guess I was wrong. I apologize. Back to Klay. He got more open looks last night than he got in any 5 game stretch in his Warriors career.

He's replacing Tim Hardaway Jr.
Klay would have to purposely play poorly to be as bad at D as THJr was last year.

Politics has become a religion for far too many people. On both sides of the political spectrum

Winston is just a faggy troll account.

Based on Klay's recent injury liabilities, it is a good bet he will not finish the season, including the playoffs. I like the Mavs, and I hope Mav's three bigs remain injury-free. If they do, they will be a force to reckon with.
Of course, a few teams meet the same criteria. Playing too many games can lead to wear and tear that results in injuries during the playoff season.
It is what it is.

He played 77 games plus a play in game last year...

I was expecting a Mark Aguirre, Rolando Blackmon thread.

its one game in a long season, you shouldn't expect him to flip his opinion after the opening game, get out of your feelings kid

Roy Tarpley isn’t walking through that door

I think Lively's development will be as key to the Mavs season as anything else.
He is clearly talented, just very young.

Good news for you! The Adelson family now has a controlling interest in the Mavericks. They are huge MAGA supporters, but I suspect you already knew that.
