I'm convinced Silver isn't pampering the Spurs so that they'll be the face of the league. He's intentionally creating a villain. The one team that everyone hates, led by a foreigner with a huge ego that everyone also hates.

The general nba community was rooting hard for the spurs over thunder and is now rooting for the spurs again because the Knicks fans are so trashy.

That’s the complete opposite of the truth. Par for the course on this board.
Seen a ton of posts of fans apologizing to OKC because they didn’t realize how dirty the Spurs are.

The biggest thing that happened is how the refs changed in 2nd half. SA was more physical and that usually that nets more fouls. But it went opposite and by a lot. The call was made and NBA ratings are breaking records, series needs to be extended. So FT's were 22-4 until ending and ended up 24-8.
Refs were on a mission in 2nd half and it worked. If you look at score and then make the fouls mostly fair NY wins.
Odds of 24-8 differential in 2nd half free throws for a NBA game are 1 in 143 games (.7%)
NBA teams play 82 games/season.
So this could happen once every two seasons.
Yet it happened game 3 NBA finals and the league’s dirtiest team enjoyed the advantage
Numbers don’t lie.

Love this one lol. Right one is vs OKC and SA didn’t even get a foul. Left is vs NY and at least NY got a foul. Same exact plays except the OKC one was a harder hit

It’s almost as if there are a lot of fans of the team in a city with a population of over 8 million. If the Thunder had made it, they’d be talking about them, but they didn’t so here we are
