Bryson has tried his entire career to figure how to beat the game of golf without learning how to play the game of golf. If he spent as much time as he does over-thinking things like barometric pressure, dew point, and trackman data, he'd be much better at the nuances of the game than he is. His game inside 100 yards leaves a lot to be desired. Hard to be better in that area when his entire focus seems to be swinging as hard as he can every time he swings.

I agree with all of this. However, maybe he realizes he’s not as naturally talented as some guys, and this is the fastest—maybe only—way to cut a few strokes off his game to catch up. With as much money as is on Tour now, I wonder if we start seeing some Moneyball, analytics guys being added to players teams to try to figure out some inventive ways to play better. Like Tiger could throw 150k at a young Stanford grad to travel with him, breaking everything down. Take some of the numbers crunching responsibility away from the caddy.

he just hit it to 15 feet for eagle on 13 and was bitching for the camera

"that's unfortunate"

He was 128yds out. Everyone in the field would be disappointed with being 15ft away from there after that drive.

Play is suspended due to darkness

How do they decide that? Also Tiger is only through like 10 holes. Lots of the field is only through the front 9. Did they bungle the timing that much or did they predict this?

It’s all behind due to the rain delay early on Thursday.

Be happy, you get early morning golf tomorrow.

They knew it was going to be tough, which is why for the first time maybe ever they started the tournament going off split tees, even with only 91 guys in the field.

Rain delay on Thursday put them behind the 8 ball. Now they’re playing catch-up.

Not to mention it gets dark at 5:15 now whereas in April you can play through 7:30

ETA I will add that for Bryson while it’s certainly unlikely he finishes high, he is putting for eagle on 13. He isn’t dead yet

You explicitly stated much more eloquently than I did what my actual point was supposed to be

I appreciate that

You can hit it as far as you want off the tee. At Augusta, if you don’t hit fairways you won’t win......
