And how is this good for fans that LIV was able to pay way over market value for golfers without worrying about a ROI?

In a different context, people would probably largely agree that it's better for the consumers when a company worries about the entertainment value to their audience rather than making money. Is there anyone in here that holds the contradictory that it's only a good thing outside of the sport of golf?

Except the LIV product is terrible. No one asked for shotgun starts, mediocre golf courses, 15 tournaments a year, shitty music blaring everywhere. No one likes it and that’s why it’s never going to approach the ratings the tour gets

They split the players into two different tours this watering down both products. LIV also offered guaranteed contracts which zaps out a major competitive edge and what makes the PGA tour so much fun to watch.

according to the tweet, LIV hired her last September. No one noticed or cared before now, so I doubt she's doing anything of consequence.

Yeah the timing of this going mainstream is interesting. I mean it’s The Masters week & people still want to have the LIV vs PGA debate

Economics 101. If LIV pays players a given amount, that is market value. Period.
No

There is a term in actual Econ called “paying over market value”

Those don’t help but the real reason LIV is terrible is because the good players have nothing on the line. Their contracts are paid and nobody really gives a shite if team crackerjacks gets the big win

It's also somewhat interesting that someone as woke as her is so eager to work for "owners" that hold such antiquated and negative views about the rights that women should have.

yeah how does a woke woman reconcile working for a country that keeps women in Hijabs? Guess the same way elite, woke university leaders ignore antisemitism.

I certainly weep for people that use your CPA services if you believe simply paying for something actually means that’s it’s market value

Paying over market value can be called a premium, economic value, etc. Very common terms in the economic sector. Maybe you arena simple bookkeeper, you would then call it Goodwill when you booked it

Nobody said anything about the effectiveness of the effort. The discussion you're coming into was about the supposed intent. Your response is irrelevant to the point, respectfully.

In the meantime, the PGA is stuck with a leaderboard every week that looks like an Asian invasion with a ton of nobodies from the European and Korn Ferry Tours. How else do you explain golfers like Max Homa being treated like he's won 10 majors every week? He hasn't.

Scheffler’s the best in the world, on a Tiger-esque run

Is LIV on the official rankings yet? Until then nothing they do even counts

Or she isn’t woke at all, she’s an opportunistic corporate ghoul, and woke was the name of the game back then. She has no scruples and she’s following the money again.

if the merger was going to happen it would've happened already. The PGA is going to wait out Koepka and others' contracts and once they defect the PIF is going to go after what they really always wanted--an NFL or NBA team

Why would the PGA merge? So they lost a few stars. They’re still able to pretend LIV doesn’t exist
