They have it playing on the gym tv's right now and it's pretty cool. Football is still weeks away, so who cares, nothing on but baseball in late summer.

The umpires are a disgrace
I feel for these kids, they are trying their hardest to help their teams win, and fatboy behind the plate is calling shite 1 foot outside strikes.
Thursday, a kid ran t first for his Walk, and then wouldn't walk back to bat after ump called a ball 6 inches above the dirt and a foot outside, he thought his team was trolling him that the ump called it a strike. He told the 1st base coach, no, he didn't call it a strike. It was f'in horrible call.
I flipped it on the girls softball dealio, and those guys behind the plate were just as bad.
Officiating is so fricking pathetic.

Is this the annual "where I live, my league is better" thread?
LL is on TV because it's the oldest and largest by a million miles and spans 6 Continents and it started being televised in 1962 on ABC. Dixie league spans 11 states only.
Cal Ripken, I don't know how many states play it.
Every state plays LL - so it's the entire country is their competition.
ESPN goes overboard covering all the pool games and should just go back to what ABC did, cover the International and National Final and then the Final.

Totally agree. Plus with travel ball and the other organizations that kids play why is LL such a big deal,

13 is Pony in LL and that age increases the base path to 80 feet.
