The Lakers' goose has been cooked since PG signed w/OKC

...and will be for a while
I don't believe the Lakers went all out for PG as they should have. Their arrogance did them in. They still have this antiquated mindset that star players dream of playing for them because "They are the Lakers" (fans too). They assumed George was going to sign with them regardless and it backfired.
Now, instead of having LeBron, PG, and the young guys developing, they are in an almost desperate position to trade them for a star.
But hey "They're the Lakers. KD, Kawhi, Kyrie... are all dying to go there"

Nobody wants to go there and then get used as a pawn by Lebron to try and get another piece.

Pels made that arse quit

What happened is Paul George didn’t wanna play with lebron. He spurned his home town to stay in OKC That’s how much he didn’t wanna have to deal with the antics that come with lebron.

They got fined for tampering with him before they could talk to him and he resigned with OKC as soon as they were allowed to speak to him.
Short of tampering again, there isn't a ton else they could have done.

Do y'all even think before you post?
Lebron isn't immune to criticism. But y'all come off as retards when attempting to do it.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Bill Simmons theory was true. He thinks the NBA told the Lakers that George was off limits.

They wouldn't trade any of their top young guys for PG, then moved D'Angelo Russell to clear cap space for a 2nd max slot that nobody has taken.
Their offer for PG was Randle or Clarkson and a late 1st

In okc if they win he gets the credit. If they lose russ gets the blame.
In LA it’s oppsote. If you win lebron take all the credit and if you lose it would be Paul’s fault. Bc lebron never takes the blame for losing.

It's honestly the worst theory from Bill I've heard since Hinkie is tanking to increase his job security. You really think if that happened to the Lakers that they'd be doing the exact same thing again with AD?

PG13 pretty much said that the Lakers made him feel as if he wasn’t prioritized there.
I took it as them taking it for granted he would sign with them there, which is why they lowballed Indiana in trade talks.
Magic and Pelinka’s complete inexperience in front office positions also likely played a part, as an experienced front office could have at least gotten George to come in for a visit before re-upping for OKC.

He's literally said the opposite. That's what the Lakers were leaking to scare off other teams.
