The difference in LSU/Ole miss was simple: one had chambliss one did not

He’s making Johnny manziel/baker mayfield/ Doug flutie type plays that you just don’t normally see in football. He’s one of those guys that only come around once every 5/10 years if that, and when he’s on there’s not much you can do. He probably converted 3 3rd downs at least last night that no other qb in the country would have. Doesn’t seem to be a big indicator though of either program’s trajectory or a mark against Blake baker. Even though on the Tiger rant they all seem to want to run baker out on a rail.

The flip pass, even as an LSU fan, was one of the best plays I have seen a college QB make. It was so good! Truly money well spent by Ole Miss and I am jealous that they have him!

It’s insane to think in any other era of college football this guys career is done and his buddies at Ferris State talk about the little QB they had who would have made it anywhere in the country if given the chance.

Yep in any other era of college football he’d be in his second year of sitting the bench on an NFL team. 6th year 24 year old QBs don’t come along often. LSU would have been evicted from the SEC for keeping on such a player.

I’m guilty of discrediting how good chambliss is. He made some throws last night with insane accuracy, and the flip pass was a perfect example of his ability to improvise.

He’s the best QB in the country. You can argue 2nd behind Mensah if you want, but Chambliss is better to me.

Don't take this as a insult LSU fans, but last night made me wonder even more why Lane would ditch what he had at Ole Miss. He could have rode Chambliss and his momentum another year or two and taken the next blue blood opening.

It was a ridiculous play, but it should have been a penalty. The center was almost to the first down line because he thought Chambliss was running.

1 year of Chambliss or 15 years at LSU, it's a no brainer

This is an overly simplistic take. He was fantastic in the first half, but largely contained in the second half.
If Baker didn’t insist on rushing three and giving their WR’s a fifteen yard cushion for the majority of the first half we are likely having a very different discussion today even with Leavitt’s inability to make throws.
