the Astros are a cheap franchise and always have been. and they spend money on stupid shite; like beltran, who will be 40, will get 16 million. hell, why won't they spend the money on a young guy with future potential?

they act, and they always have, like a small market franchise. Houston is the 4the largest market in the country and management of the Astros act like it's Oakland or KC.

at least they used to have pitchers, now, pitchers are just not something they spend money on. imagine a winning club w/o pitching. it just doesn't happen does it.

Been a fan my whole life and have been disappointed more times than not (hell that's just the life as a Houston sports fan period though). You bitch that they won't spend money, then this offseason they actually go out and spend money that addresses several needs and still bitch. There have been several times in the history of this franchise to be disappointed, now is far from one of those times.

I may be wrong about this--and I hope I am--but I didn't think Bregs was worthy of the 2nd pick, and think he'll come back down to earth a bit. I may would trade him to win now. To me, he's ways just struck me as a high floor, but relatively low ceiling guy. Like I think Pedroia is his absolute max. Which is fantastic. But I wouldn't consider him untouchable if you feel you have all the pieces besides a starter to win now.

Wow I never disagreed with anyone more than I did now.

You seriously are the worst poster on this site. I know you're trolling, but even this is pathetic.

My momma said to always treat senile old men with leaky depends with respect, so I say this with all due respect... If they've disappointed you since 1962, why not change fricking teams? I mean, the Yankees are always looking for people to buy their hats and shite. Giddy up grandpa.

Not really. Only real weakness astros have is starting pitching at the top of the rotation. Should make a move for Quintana and he won't require Bregman (but won't be cheap)

Wait.....

So if his ceiling is a 4x All Star, 4x Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, 2x World Champion, and an MVP.....

I'll go ahead and jump on that immediately.

Seriously, we could bump 3 Anti-Astros threads a day and still not get through all of them before Spring Training.

There isn’t a better response to this thread than Bregman hitting the game-tying homerun off of Chris Sale in game 4 of the ALDS... in which the Astros clinched the series.
