The boners are strong this spring. So much to look forward to in this season. Castro and Rizzo are still pretty young. Soler, Alcantara, Hendricks, and Baez are up for good (for the most part we have to believe they'll be on the MLB roster for a majority of the season unless someone catastrophically fails). And then the Bryant callup...

A little less interesting or flashy, but I'm definitely interested in Mike Olt's spring.

The Cubs starting linebacker, Jorge Soler, is up to 242 pounds. He's listed as 6'4" and 215 lbs. He added almost all muscle.

The Cubs pitchers are twirling a perfect game through 7 innings against the A's. Hendricks started with 5 perfect frames.

I need to post some of my thoughts on the Cubs before the season gets rolling. A decent amount has already said.

TLDR Version:

Keep Castro at SS. I worry about his mental makeup.

Wait 10+ games for Bryant. Move him into LF.

Transition Russell into third. He has gigantic shoulders. Eno Sarris was saying how he gained 30 pounds of muscle when he was 19 just because. We know he would be a plus defender at third and he could hit upwards of 30 bombs with the added bulk.

Current 3B should be a mix of La Stella, Olt, and Alcantara.

I want Baez to play everyday if possible. He has had an adjustment period at every level.

Alcantara should spell Fowler in CF.
