The 5% going into my 401K is definitely 5% of my gross pay

Yep.

but my taxable gross is my gross less what I put in my 401K.

Well this would make it a traditional 401k contribution. Deducting the amount you contribute before you pay taxes on the money.

What I am saying is maybe on your check they take the 5% out of your base (gross) salary and then take out taxes and insurance and arrive at your "net" pay, but then they deduct the 5% of your gross from that amount. That would be a Roth 401k contribution in that it was deducted from your paycheck after you paid taxes.
Is that Jurgen Klinsmann inside there?

So say my gross is $4000 per check, $200 is going towards my 401K.

My suggestion would be to check the math on your check of all the deductions.

Your example doesn't necessarily mean that the 5% isn't coming out after taxes. It just means they figured the 5% figure on the gross pay amount, but they could be deducting 5% of your gross pay from the net pay.

He's going to be relieved.

Sounds like he already has been...
Max is right - forgot Olt is about ready to go. He could possibly get a chance and have KB play some CF.

I don't think Schwarber will come back up yet.
Oh yeah it pretty much sucks. And I don't think Soler is going to be back before the end of this stretch. Hopefully it is day to day, but I guess if not we will be seeing either Lake or Alcantara. Alcantara has been playing pretty well and he can switch hit and has IF versatility.

Maybe Bryant will just play CF???

Didn't soler stay in the game after spraining his ankle?

He did. I don't remember at what point in the game he injured the ankle.

I wasn't insinuating that there is no chance Fowler's injury is serious. I simply said I hope it isn't because he did stay in for a little while after it was hurt. Sometimes that doesn't mean anything, sometimes it does.
I *think* Wada was just having some shoulder spasms. Hopefully it won't be anything serious. fowler was strange because he actually stayed in the game defensively until his next AB which must have been at least two defensive innings. Hopefully he is just day to day especially with Soler still 10 days away.
Great way to start a four game series. Bullpen continues to be absolute nails going 7 innings and allowing only 1 run.
it pretty much looked exactly like that as the dude uncontrollably jumped up and down in the bleachers trying to like bear hug his buddy.
The guy that caught that one was pretty excited.

so why did you change your name?

This is funny that I've gotten in your dome so much that you think I'm someone else.

I know what a game winning RBI is

Oh ok, so you know that yesterday was a game winning RBI then.

quote:

but you were trying to paint him as this clutch player yesterday

I said nothing more than he had another game winning RBI which gives him 4 in the last 10 days. That is fact. Much more fact than "he doesn't hustle and looks lackadaisical."

quote:

Hitting a sac fly in the 3rd inning of a scoreless game doesn't exactly jive with his other walk off hits.

Well no - it wasn't a walk-off or even a hit for that matter. But it was a game winning RBI. His 4th such RBI in the last 10 days. Glad we could have this discussion.
quote:

are you counting his 3rd inning RBI as the game winning hit like the other guy?

quote:

Nope...but i did like his play against doizer.

Not sure what to say here. His RBI yesterday is considered a game winning RBI by definition and every baseball person in the world considers that a game winning RBI. We can talk about every other statistic/sabermetric known to man, but then we are going to try and deny that that was a game winning RBI by definition? Good stuff.

Let's just keep comparing his slugging percentage to Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber. I mean they r rookieezzz!!11!

The butt hurt from Lester in this thread is so amazing.
Thank God you made a thread about this. There definitely haven't been any other threads on this same topic and I'm just oozing with anticipation on who tadellatt thinks the 2016 baseball starters will be.

Annnnd he gets the game winning hit today giving him three game winning hits in the last 9 days.

Castro with yet another game winning RBI. That's 4 game winners in 10 days. 3 hit game. He is so terrible.

But it is funny and convenient how you weren't posting when Castro had back to back walk off singles just last week.

Annnnd he gets the game winning hit today giving him three game winning hits in the last 9 days.

Also made a really nice leaping catch to end the game.

Lester might be quiet for a little bit. We can only hope anyway.
quote:

do we still have Castro defenders round here?

Terrible play. Embarrassing play last night

But it is funny and convenient how you weren't posting when Castro had back to back walk off singles just last week.
I know they are backwards compatible and a 3.0 can be plugged into a 2.0 but would be limited to 2.0 capabilities. But can you plug a 2.0 drive into a 3.0 port??

but not change the development schedule for a promising player.

I disagree slightly here. I think the FO has mentioned that if they think a guy can help the team win then they would definitely bring him up in order to help the ball club make a playoff run. I think it is pretty obvious that we are going to be in the running for a playoff spot at the end of this season. Especially with how much better the bullpen has gotten and now Neil Ramirez will be back soon. Even if that player has to move to a different position temporarily. They will do whatever it takes to makes the playoffs if they have that chance.

Thanks for pointing this out to us.

I understand lefty righty matchup but lift cogs for ross with the tying run at 2nd.

I thought this was one of the dumber moves I have ever seen last night. It got even worse when he compounded it by lifting Denorfia for Mike fricking Baxter because the Indians brought a right hander in the game. Beyond dumb.

Cubs are in the wild card right now.

Anthony Rendon was drafted in 2011 and was an everyday player in MLB by June of 2013.

Anthony Rendon was also a SIGNIFICANLY better hitter than Alex Bregman.

to make room for Bregman at 3rd.

Bregman isn't going to be playing third base in the major leagues.
quote:

Considering they have Correia and Altuve in the IF it will be awhile for him. They would need someone to get injured, start sucking, or for Breg to change positions.

Agree completely. This is a very silly thread because of that reason. I would think there is no way he will get called up before September of 2017, even that might be pushing it.

He isn't going to come in and mash like Kris Bryant or Schwarber.
I know that. See the comment above that I had responded to.
quote:

1st year would be extremely unlikely unless he tears it up continuously and they have injury issues

I hope you aren't counting this as his first year because there is absolutely zero chance he is getting called up in 2015.

The starting pitching rotation is planned in advance.

No kidding. So why, if a team is going to bring a guy up from AAA (that isn't occupying one of the spots on the 25 man roster currently) to pitch on Thursday night, would they add him to the roster on Wednesday night? That would be absolutely retarded.
quote:

because our pen has been so bad

Pen has been absolutely nails for about the last month or so now. They had 4 consecutive games last week where they went 6, 5, 4 and 4 innings. They allowed a total of 2 ER in those 19 IP.
