The committee would not have had to explain putting FSU in

Which says all you need to say. The fact the committee has to use all their double speak and babble to justify Alabama being in says what it needs to say as well…that they didn’t belong.

As a casual CFB fan, the games will be more competitive now, I'm all for it.

Trying to find match ups in the playoffs that are more competitive isn’t sports.

Why is this such an accepted answer? FSU’s defense is really good. I think it wouldve been a great game vs Michigan with or without Jordan Travis.

It's a tv product first.

You HAVE to put in an undefeated P5 champ.

You HAVE to put in a 12-1 SEC champ who has the most top 15 wins, only loss was to one-loss team, and who knocked off GA in Atlanta.

You do not HAVE to put in a one-loss Big 12 champion.

Everyone became obsessed with the result of one game in September and lost their minds like a bunch of women.

No i think if UGA won last night, Texas would still be in over FSU.

Cool, but that's not how it's run in present day.

A game w/FSU and Michigan would very likely be a close low scoring matchup b/c both defenses are so good.

FSU's defense is good enough to keep them in a game against anyone.

exactly, and with Bama speed, it's gonna be a bloodbath but Texas is gonna be the champion. They'll beat Bama again.

Agreed. McCarthy hasn't been lighting up the stat sheet over the last month either, which just so happened to coincide with Michigan finally playing teams with a pulse.

But Michigan is unquestionably #1 and would just embarrass FSU according to the committee acolytes here.

dear sweet baby Jesus. Please let Michigan somehow, some way beat Bama by 30 so that the College Playoff Committee can be proven to be the frauds that they are. Please let Bama lose so that we don't have to hear "the ends justify the means" again as of that's an acceptable answer for ignoring a PERFECT college football season by a Power 5 football team and letting TWO teams with a loss in instead.

No one thinks Michigan has a chance against Bama. Please, let Harbough finally win a playoff game and prove to everyone that the players on the field, how they perform each play, and the final score of the games played actually mean more than what some rich assholes in suits think.

correct. Iowa and FSU both have a better defense than any team in the playoffs.
