With Brandon Weeden being offically named the starting QB of the Cleveland browns, it doesnt seem like the browns qb troubles will be over anytime soon. Since Tim Couch was selected with the first overall pick in the 1999 draft the browns have named 10 new starters at the quarterback position. In fact they havent had a QB start more than three seasons since Bernie Kosar played from 1986 till 1993.

2011 Colt McCoy (13) / Seneca Wallace (3)
2010 Colt McCoy (8) / Jake Delhomme (4) / Seneca Wallace (4)
2009 Brady Quinn (9) / Derek Anderson (7)
2008 Derek Anderson (9) / Brady Quinn (3) / Ken Dorsey (3) / Bruce Gradkowski (1)
2007 Derek Anderson (15) / Charlie Frye (1)
2006 Charlie Frye (13) / Derek Anderson (3)
2005 Trent Dilfer (11) / Charlie Frye (5)
2004 Jeff Garcia (10) / Kelly Holcomb (2) / Luke McCown (4)
2003 Kelly Holcomb (8) / Tim Couch (8)
2002 Tim Couch (14) / Kelly Holcomb (2)
2001 Tim Couch (16)
2000 Doug Pederson (8) / Tim Couch (7) / Spergon Wynn (1)
1999 Tim Couch (14) / Ty Detmer (2)

Considering the tumultuous play at QB, maybe a solid ground game is the answer.

DO NOT use HISTORY if you gonna post a list like this. PUT RECENT history.

If you go back more than a decade I'm pretty sure that's historically relevant. If I list 3 years I see your point.

The team records belong to the Browns.

quote:

Modell would be able to keep the Browns' existing player and staff contracts, but his team officially would be an entirely new franchise in Baltimore, later named the Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, the Browns' name, history, and archives would stay in Cleveland, and a new Browns team would begin play in 1999 after a three-year period of "deactivation".

What happen to Anderson? I thought he was doing a great job for the browns. I know they drafted McCoy but it seems like he was doing a solid job in Cleveland.

Well he had that little meltdown after Arizona got beat by the 49ers on MNF a few years ago. I don't think he ever did anything noteworthy on the field though. He is a back up in Carolina now.
