I hope Donaldson stays.

Flowers was very frustrating at and behind the plate but finding 2 new starting catchers in one off season can’t be easy.

I’m okay with Kakes. Not much of an arm nor very fast but rarely makes errors.

Darren O’Day re-signed.

1 yr/$2.25M w/ club option for 2021.

Very nice. If he pitches like he did at the end of the year, its a huge bargain.

Bowden proposes a Waters, Contreras, and Mueller for Mookie. Would you do it?

Mookie has one year left on this deal. Think it's fair to assume that we would be interested in making a play to sign him long term, but does that mean we won't resign Donaldson?

I would pass on that. Putting too many eggs in one basket at both OF and C.

I would do that if an extension is agreed to.

Braves sign Will Smith to 3 yr $39M deal. Had a QO.

Interesting move. I wonder what the draft pick compensation is and if that will prohibit us from going after someone like Bumgarner

Our bullpen should be pretty solid this year.

They lose their 3rd round pick but could receive a higher pick than they lose if Donaldson goes elsewhere for $50M+

Really like the back end of the bullpen now.

I'm starting to think we aren't going to get JD back. Someone is going to offer him something like 4/$90M and we won't match.

I heard on Hot Stove today that the Dodgers are looking at Anthony Rendon. Their thoughts were that if they are interested in Rendon they are probably also interested in Donaldson. I’d like to keep Donaldson but I think he’d be a great fit in LA.

I like the Will Smith signing. He was a hot commodity at the trade deadline last year.

If someone is crazy enough to offer a 34 year old that money then they can have him

I'd guess it would be an AL team so he can DH in his later years

Still crazy, but if they want to justify that way then

Mike Moustakas might be a good fit for us at 3B.

Fangraphs says Moustakas should get around 2 years 32 million. Lets say we give him that. Thats 16 mil a year. We are giving Will Smith 13 million. That 29 million is just a few million more than what we would have given Donaldson(25-26 mil), so we would still have plenty for a starter and maybe a OFer, to go along with some set aside for in season trades.

I think maybe 2 year deals for someone like Cole Hamels and Corey Dickerson/Ben Zobrist.
