Braves in on Pollock according to Buster.

I don't think Pollack be worth the money he wants or giving up the draft pick.

Mets signing Jed Lowrie. I like this move for them. NL East is gonna be tough because it looks like everyone besides the Marlins is all in in 2019.

62. We would lose the pick if we sign ajp

So now that all the arbitration is done, it looks like the salary for the season is around $110.5. We went into the season last year at $118, and ended right at $136(40 man). Pretty much everyone is saying we will spend around $15 mil before the season, and will have around another $15 during the season so AA can make trades.
Predictions:
Now that we have the draft pick situation taken care of, I think things are a little more clear for the front office.
I think we look hard at Pollock, but I ultimately think we get a trade done with Texas.
Atlanta receives
Joey Gallo(ML min, 3 arb)
Mike Minor(9.9, 9.9)
Texas Receives
Julio Teheran(11.0, 12.0 opt)
Luiz Gohara
Kyle Muller
Alex Jackson
2 million dollars
1.Acuna 2.Albies 3.Freeman 4.Donaldson 5.Gallo 6.FloCan 7.Inciarte 8.Swanson
Folty, Gausman, Newcomb, Soroka, Touki
Vizcaino, Minter, Minor, O'Day, Fried, Venters, Sobotka, Biddle
The Rangers basically get their #1 starter for the same price as Minor. It gives them room to put Calhoun in LF, Jackson could get a shot at the catcher position there, and Gohara and Muller would move in the organizations top 5 prospects.
DeShields, Odor, Andrus, Mazara, Choo, Wisdom. Guzman, Calhoun, Mathis/Jackson
Teheran, Lynn, Smyly, Miller, Volquez
1.Tavares 2.Gohara 3.Muller 4.Martinez 5. Winn

Rumor: We have signed Marwin Gonzalez for 3/56
Posted on 1/14/19 at 7:53 pm to lsu31always
Signing marwin for 6 mil more than Cutch signed for with Phillie, I can't see that. Would be terrible.
Posted on 1/14/19 at 7:53 pm to lsu31always
Its a false spanish report.

Marwin is a useful player. Ya'll will love his ability to play all over the field. But 18 million a year for Marwin feels high to me. MLB trade rumors predicted a 4/36 deal.

Yea, I was thinking around 9 a year. I mean you have to wonder if 2017 was an outlier. 2018 was so in line with his career avg.
Plus, I think it's a weird fit for a team with Carmargo already on it.

Basically says that no offer has been made to Gonzalez, but the Braves are interested, along with other teams.

17 was definitely an outlier. Last year is probably a reasonable expectation going forward. I don’t think this report is true but I don’t think having another versatile player like him would be a bad thing if it’s at a more reasonable price. Esp with Riley and Pache in the pipeline where he could transition back to more of a traditional bench role
Posted on 1/14/19 at 8:16 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
3/27 or 30 would be a good number
Posted on 1/14/19 at 8:18 pm to ShaneTheLegLechler
But you already have basically younger better version of Marwin on the bench with Carmargo. Think it's a really weird fit, esp for the price rumored. I think 8 or 9 mill is much more reasonable. The Braves shouldn't want to get stuck with another Chris Johnson contract.

If spending like 9-12m on him would really limit you otherwise then I agree, but having two of those guys would be great I think especially in the NL if the money isn’t a huge issue. Marwin was essentially an everyday player for us between injuries and spot starts. I would think one of him or Camargo would be the in the lineup every night for Atlanta
I’m guessing for the Braves this would kind of be your corner OF that people expected to sign? And then would transition to a versatile super utility player if a prospect fills that spot. That contract posted is ridiculous but I think I’d rather have Marwin at 3/33 than Pollock at 4/56 or something in your situation

Yeah, marwin at 3/27 or 3/30 wouldn't be bad considering what is left for the OF. Would prefer that to giving up a pick for Pollock.
