Honestly, if Wisler pitches well in the spring, I still think he gets a spot in the rotation. One of the three acquired pitchers will be a man without a spot.

I think the goal is to flip Dickey, Colon, and Garcia at the deadline for prospects. I think they will see which pitchers deserve a chance at the show and call them up after they trade away are veteran pitching.

Bingo. All three will be in the rotation barring injury.

Especially Jaime. He's a prime flip candidate.

The two old guys won't fetch anything. Garcia maybe

It really depends on how well they are pitching I guess. I wouldn't bet against Colon being a nice piece for a contender down the stretch.

I doubt we get any top 50 prospects for them but last year we got Travis Demeritte for Lucas Harrell. Teams in playoff contention will trade for quality pitching.

i think they were signed to eat innings, not really as trade bait. But i guess anything is possible. I cant see a team giving up much for a 42 & 44 yr old pitcher

Braves agree to terms with Anthony Recker and Paco Rodriguez. Tender offers to Ender Inciarte, Arodys Vizcaino and Ian Krol. Chris Withrow non tendered and is now a free agent.

I think this would be my projected 25 man headed in to the winter meetings

C
Flowers
Recker

IF
Freeman
Peterson
Garcia
Swanson
Rodriguez
Ruiz
d'Arnaud

OF
Kemp
Inciarte
Markakis
Smith

SP
Teheran
Garcia

Albies for d'Arnaud with a good spring training and Collmenter in play for swing man spot.

Just curious, what do you think of Smith starting the season at AAA just to let him get started and get everyday ABs?

Think there is a good chance he gets sent down at some point. Maybe they want ozzie to log a month in aaa. They call ozzie up, and send mallex down with Sean becoming the fourth of. Problem with that is that you have no one else besides ender that can man center

I just hate him sitting on the bench for the most part. He may well end up being a 4th OF type, but he's still so young that getting consistent ABs would seem important.

It probably wouldn't be good, but you might be able to throw Jace out there in a pinch.

I kinda think he's done all he can at triple a, and now he's better getting as many MLB ABs as possible. Work him in for three starts a week giving Markakis and Kemp days off....not to mention inter league play.

I don't see d'arnaud as having anything to offer the team

Also wondering if the Nats trading for Norris will help the Braves with Weiters on a cheaper deal?
