Why would we want him? We already have a r/r catcher in Flowers, who played well for us for pennies. Why would we want a guy at catcher who will be 31 when opening day starts, who has a injury history?
He will cost way too much and will want a much larger deal than we are willing to give.

Julio will pitch for Columbia in the WBC .
So far belive he is the only confirmed brave in it.
I think ender and Freeman may also play. Maybe cabrera and viz.
Eta: Ozzie may be able to play for the Netherlands. Like Simba does

Ugh...if I remember correctly, Kimbrel had a horrible start to the season when he pitched in the WBC. I don't mind our position players participating, but I really wish the pitchers could be forced to stay home and attend spring training.

Archer would cost something like Folty Albies Newcomb Touki DPete imo. Maybe more.

I am not really in favor of trying to add to this team. I think you are looking at a 75-77 win team. I would not trade Albies, Swanson, Acuna or Maitan for Sale or Archer. If we do make a big trade it should be trading from the glut of arms for an Arenado type.

I think Albies' next 6 years will be>Archer's next 5.
Archer is very good and obviously controllable but I think the Braves will be fine from the pitching side. They have very little young position talent and this is not the way to spend arguably your best minor league piece imo.
You trade Albies and you are looking at 2nd division type starters at 2nd, 3rd, RF, C and possibly LF depending on your views on Kemp. Not much in the pipeline at any of those positions either as your only impact position prospects would be 18 year old Acuna and 16 year old Maitan.
Not worth it imo.

You must not be familiar with Demeritte!!!! He is about to hit 30 bombs for us at 2B as soon as 2018.

Really doubt that. 33% K rate in A+ ball at 21 years old. 25 HRs in the one of the most hitter friendly parks in the most hitter friendly league in the minors. He hit a home run once every 15.2 ABs this year with the Rangers. Went all the way up to one every 50.6 with the Braves. Only hit .250 with us, yet had a .394 BABIP.
Its going to take a lot of changes for him to come close to a full time major league hitter.

I was slightly joking. He has made several improvements to his swing and approach though. Most scouts raved about him in the AFL.
