Guys on locked on post cast talking about Coors causing a 20% drop on fastballs. Which could explain a lot of his misses.
Doesn’t explain his velo but I’ll be giving him a couple of more starts before I toss him to the side.

In a vacuum, sure. Unfortunately, how he pitched today followed the script of his previous returns as well.

Maybe, hopefully, he bucks the trend, but the data isn’t encouraging

Didn’t see anyone post this after they mentioned it on the broadcast, but this is the best 35 game start in franchise history since the 1892 Boston Beaneaters.

We also have an 8.5 game lead in our division, where the next closest lead is 2 games. What a start to the season!

I know it is the Rockies, but a sweep is a sweep.

Chop on.

Now 3 games ahead of the win all 3 game series, win evens at home and split on the road.

Building a nice cushion.

That’ll put the roster low on outfielders.

Not sure why it wouldn’t be Heim.

Because everybody needs catchers, so we could either trade him for a reliever at the deadline or hold onto him and trade Murphy for a bigger deadline package.

“If a player serving as the DH is later used on defense, he continues to bat in his same lineup spot. But for the rest of the game, his team cannot use a DH to bat in place of the pitcher” - MLB rule

Since the Braves use Drake as DH a good bit, having three catchers protects them from getting caught up in this rule.
Also, Heim was an All Star, Gold Glove winner, and World Series Champion in 2023. He’s a switch hitter, as well. Like Broski said, at least get something for him or Murph.
