The first postseason he was here he was literally the only guy who showed up against Philly. Harris was 1-30 in his career in the postseason before this year and he was unbelievable this series.

Acuña is the only player in our organization with an OPS of >.800 in the postseason for his career and we won the WS the year he was hurt.

Olson went 4-12 in that Phillies series. 2 HRs sure. I just don’t think you can find any consistency with that approach. Sure it may all come together one time and your guys get hot and you win a World Series like we did in 21. We did have Freddie for some consistency though. . But you decrease your odds by having too many of those boom or bust guys

4-12 isn’t good?

Is that 4 for 12 or 4 for 16?

It’s frustrating at times watching the Olson experience and how that process played out to getting him was dumb and unnecessary.

But if we move on from him we just be compounding the issue bu replacing him with a worst 1B than him and Freddie

He was 4-12 with 5 walks and 2 homers. 1.363 OPS.

If i recall correctly, the issue wit Olson v Philly last year was that his hits came with no one on and his outs came with runners on

I typically don't follow the playoffs once the Braves are out (Indians/Cubs WS being one of the exceptions), but I wouldn't mind if the Padres won it all.

frick the Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, and Yankees.

100%. Padres, Indians, Brewers, Royals and Tigers fan from here on out. Cleveland or Detroit guaranteed the ALCS

With this I agree 100%. I also agree with you about the uselessness of Arcia and Murphy.

Although I never expect you to agree with any of my comments, I do enjoy the threads. I can't always participate because I have 2 granddaughters playing HS Volleyball right now and Club VB in the spring/summer. That's why I am not on here more often making stupid comments.

See ya next season in these threads

Wonder if that would satisfy them a bit and make them not go so hard after Max. If they get close, but don’t finish the deal, I can see them getting a bit desperate to cash in on this window. Of course, they could win the WS and get greedy and try to go all in for a little dynasty run.

But at the end of the day, it’s really gonna be just about how Max wants to finish the rest of his career. I think we’ll offer him something close enough to what he wants that he’ll take it. If that’s what he and his family want to do. If he wants to move back closer to him on the west coast, he’ll do that. Which is what I expect him to do. Otherwise, I think he’d have already signed an extension before the season started.
