If Matzek shuts them down next inning we should consider putting Jacob Webb or Tomlin out there with a short leash to rest our high leverage guys

6-0?

Y'all please knock these frickers out. I'm so tired of hearing about how dreamy and perfect Mookie and the Dodgers are.

Gonna be an interesting call. Should Matzek go 2 or 3 and then give it to Shane maybe?

Obviously it all depends on how Matzek does, but you want to solidify the win and the Dodgers can swing the bat even though we havent seen it yet. Itll come at some point.

Dodgers haven’t lost a season series. You don’t frick around with a chance to go two games up.

It’s not like Webb is a scrub. He’d be a Top 5 arm in most bullpens

Webb would be fine, but I assumed he would be pitching a lot in game 4 or 5.

No. These aren't the Marlins. You treat this like it is 0-0 and bring in your best arms to shut them down.

Now, if we were down 6-0, I would agree with you.

I know we are all considering who should pitch, but lets see what Matzek does. Id be all about him going 2-3 innings here if he does well. And then you decide if we go Smith/Melancon or go Maybe Webb.

I agree. We are up 6 runs. We are going to have to get some innings out of some of these guys at some point in the series. Doing it when we have a 6 run lead does not seem like the worse time.

Dodgers have overcome a deficit of 6+ runs in the postseason once in their history: 1956 World Series Game 2 vs Yankees (trailed 6-0, won 13-8).

Would be the most Barves thing ever.

I think we will need Matzek later in the week. One inning only for me. Maybe go Greene and Webb instead of Smith and Martin if you’re up 5+ in the 7th and 8th but I wouldn’t get too cute here.
