Championship!
In other news, due to the massive moves made at the trade deadline the Braves are now out of contention for a bye.

Honestly, what needed to be done to make this team a true contender was probably impossible at the deadline. Going into next season, this team needs two significant corner outfield bats (one to play LF full time, one to cover RF if/when Acuna misses a chunk of time) and will need to significantly upgrade at least one of 2B and 3B.

Could we hurry this up a little?

I am looking for something else to watch tonight.......I think maybe the NFL opener. I need to watch something WITH MORE HITS IN THE GAME than Atlanta's bats will provide.

This team is a true contender. It may not be the team you wished it was, but they have a solid shot at the World Series. More often than not, the team with the best regular season record doesn’t win the World Series.

Another example of AA's rotation failure.
We're fasttracking a chronically injured pitcher into a postseason push.

But the team with one of the worst offenses doesn't either.

Fangraphs has us with a 5.8% chance to win the World Series.
Teams that are ahead of us:
Dodgers 29%
Brewers 11.4%
Yankees 10.3%
Rays 9.1%
Phillies 7.0%
So I guess we're a contender in that we're going to make the playoffs, but the trends don't support us doing much once we get there.

That Dodger team was swept fairly recently by the lowly Braves. Hmm

If we win the division we are #3 going up as of today against The Arizona Diamondbacks. If Sale wins we need to beat one more Arizona/San Diego starter. Do we have a chance?

Yes, believe it or not, Fangraphs takes into account more than a three game series.
If you had to bet money on which team to go further in the playoffs, who are you taking between the two?

The Braves are 5-1 vs the Dodgers in 2026. But fan graphs

Yeah, it's a legitimate source that relies heavily on advanced metrics, sorry it hurts your argument.
Also, answer the question.
Also, answer the question.

The offense has been one of the worst in baseball for most of the season. Since the year 2000, of the 52 teams to participate in the World Series, the 2014 Giants had the lowest OBP at .311. The 2026 Braves have a season OBP of .310, and it is .303 since May 1.
You can't win if you can't get on base.
Only three World Series participants in that time frame had a worse OPS for the season than this year's Braves team (.719); 2014 SF, 2014 KC, 2015 NYM

The Braves are 6-3 vs the Phillies and 3-3 vs the Brewers. Really no reason to think they can’t contend.

You realize you avoiding to answer the question is you answering the question, right?

I don’t gamble on sports. I know it adds excitement for many, but I have no interest in it. I don’t think the Dodgers will win three WS consecutively. There’s just something off about them this season.

They look like they're playing with their food until October starts.

It’s a hypothetical homie. The point is that it is easy to say all this rah rah stuff as an anonymous message board poster, but you won’t know how you really feel unless actual stakes are on the line.

I didn’t ask about the World Series, just who do you think goes further between them and the Braves. Keep in mind, LA is 3 games ahead for the final bye.
Also, if you think something is off about LA, how do you not feel the same about the Braves?
