Biggest series of the year most likely

Who are our three starters going?

ETA: Tonight we are sending Sale against Nola

Game 2 Mahle vs Luzardo and Game 3 Holmes is listed currently facing off against Painter

I think if we get 2/3 here this is all but wrapped up.
I dont see them being 6 games better than us over the last 12. (As we already own the tiebreaker)

Don't think we rely on Kim to bail us out this time.

Yeah, if they don't win this series they're going to run out of runway to catch us.

But they are also a playoff lock and neither of us will catch the Dodgers so all we're really talking about here is would you rather play the Padres or the Cubs in the opening round?

Since may 1st we have one of the worst WRC+ for the entire team in all of MLB.

If we get bounced early in the playoffs this is going to be why. We can’t put together any offensive consistency at all.

We need to overhaul our offensive approach imo. This team is built to slug and it feels like when we aren’t hitting a ton of home runs our offense is dreadful.

AA long termed a lineup full of sluggers right as the league was changing the rules to create more action on the bases. I think the league deadening the balls after the 2023 season really, really, really screwed this team up.

They mashed the hell out of the ball in 2024 but since the balls weren't as juiced, they didn't have the results to show for it. Firing Seitzer and hiring Hyers, signing Profar and Kim, etc... were reactions to that.

I think the team knows this is a problem but doesn't know what to do about it other than blowing up this core.

This is our best lineup atm imo.

Our success in the postseason is just going to be totally dependent on which version of offense shows up. We are entirely feast or famine.

I’m not worried about the pitching at all really. Despite dealing with insane injuries once again to the staff this year they’ve been one of the best staffs in baseball this year.

I feel very good about Sale and Mahle going in the first two games of a playoff series.

Game three if it was up to me I would go with Perez right now, and then either Sale again on short rest or if you wanted to go with a 4th option in a 7 game series imo you would go Grant Holmes and AJSS piggy backing off each other.

I’d stash Lopez in the pen

Weather not looking good for tonight. I hope Sale doesn’t waste an appearance with a lengthy rain delay

Looks like rain moves in about an hour before first pitch. Shouldn’t be a situation where he throws 2 innings then there is a long delay

nah

they aren't catching the braves the same way the braves aren't catching the dodgers for the #2.
