And so the stage is set and the players will soon be tested.
Sale vs Yamamoto a repeat of a game not long ago which included one of the top 5 pitching performances of the year for any pitcher with Sale pitching a complete game shut out.
We accomplished exactly what was needed in LA. Get a split and reset the series in our favor with home field advantage and our Ace and number 2 starters fully rested.
We can win this. We SHOULD win this.
Go Braves

Also Harris in his last 7 playoff games is hitting for a .466 batting average.
This is after in his first 8 he hit .083
He is becoming a legit superstar
He’d probably appreciate some help so he can stop being the guy holding the world up in Atlus shrugged

Y'all seen the Ronald drama?
Some discourse on whether the translation is accurate, but regardless, probably just hold this until the off season bro

How about working out how to not roll into an inning ending double play with the bases loaded first then talk all the shite you want?
That’s a reasonable ask

That's a big nothing-burger.
Anyway, Walt and AA's game 2 gambled paid off, need to consolidate now with Sale on the bump.
Still need a lot of things to go right for us, namely, the offense has to start stringing hits together, especially Baldwin, Acuna and Olson. Going to be tough to do that against one of the best pitchers in the game, but the Dodgers are saying the same thing on the other end.
But we are in as good of a spot to take this series as we possibly could be right now. Let's mess around and not go back to LA.

I mean yeah but thats kind of stating obvious things.
The important take away in my mind is we managed to grab a split reframing the series in our favor 2x over now having home field advantage and having our top 2 starting arms fully rested.
This is literally the best possible outcome you couldve hoped for without being delusional and trying to stay realistic.
The momentum is with us, not them.

I mean, yeah that’s what I said homie.
Whoever wins today likely wins the series

I wasnt taking aim at you with the latter part of the statement, it was meant for people in general and maybe some of the crazier posters we have here

If Sale wants to throw another complete game shutout, that would be magnificent.

I assume all bullpen arms are available except for Fuentes in this game right?

Did AJSS get put on the roster for this series?

Yep, he pitched in game 1
I am curious about Suarez' availability tonight. It was mentioned that he wasn't available for game 1 in LA after throwing an inning against Philly two days prior.

That was Game 1, which we kinda punted. This is Game 3 and pretty much a must win. Not that we couldn’t win Games 4 and 5 back-to-back, it just feels like every Sale start is a must-win in a short series. I’m not saying Suarez will pitch, but I’d be shocked if he’s not available to come in in a high leverage situation and get at least a hitter or 2.
I’m sure in a perfect world, Walt would prefer not to have to use him and save him for Game 4 when you figure the pen is going to have to get at least a couple more outs than tonight. But if we have a late lead, I think Walt goes all in to do whatever it takes to finish it.
To that point, I wouldn’t even say Didi is completely unavailable. I could see him coming in for a hitter, maybe 2, if the situation and matchup is right. I doubt he starts a clean inning or comes in with no outs and has to pitch to 3 hitters, but if there are runners on with 2 outs and they’ve got a guy coming up who doesn’t match up well with him at all, I can see Walt going to him for 10 or so pitches.
Perfect world, bats get going early and take a 4-run lead, takes a little pressure off Sale, he cruises through 8 and lets Iggy finish it and save all your bullets for tomorrow to close it out. But if we’re up 1-0 after 6 and Sale can’t keep going, I’m not sure anything’s off the table for those final 9 outs except Mahle.

I’m not being greedy but yeah I’d love an 8 inning shutout effort and a 6-0 lead off big nights for Olson and Acuña.

I have to agree to disagree on Didi
I think there is 0% chance he will get into tonight's game. Even just to pitch to one batter as you said, because that still involves him having to throw 20ish pitches in the pen to warm up and on the field between inning frames.
And I am actually ok with this. It is very possible if not likely in game 4 but very much so likely in game 5 we could be in another situation where we need him for 3 innings.
Planning that out into the future and letting him have total rest today is far more important than him maybe pitching .1 innings in this game but thats just my opinion

That looks really bad but you have to remember we basically just did 2 bullpen games on the road and came away with a split, it is really understandable why our relieve pitch counts are so high because we have used 1 SP in the two first games and that was Holmes for barely an inning
The hope and expectation is Sale and Mahle are both able to give us extreme length. LIke 7+ innings length for Sale and at least 5+ for Mahle to let the pen get as much rest as we can give them
